Hacking (4.x only) CIA CFW Complete Guide

Just did the turning off Wi-Fi thing. Nothing new...

Turn it off and then turn it on after that you should start run.bat. If it doesnt work try it again and hopefully your 3ds will not freeze. I tried it several times and turned wifi off after the 3ds booted

I was on 4.4, left wifi off until I had booted into the cfw(worked first time), then I turned wifi and started ctrclient which ran, connected to the 3ds, and installed the cia without any problems.

I was even using wine on linux. But I also had manually set my ip address, dns, gateway, and subnet.

Maybe it's some specific wifi setting? Even after I deleted the other 2 wifi connections it still won't work.

Lets compare:

1. WPA2-PSK AES encryption
2. Manually set up ip and dns (tested and valid)
3. Using connection 2 (connection 1 was taken)

Are sysnand and the emunand wifi settings different?

Same as me,(though I was using conn 1...)

If you set the internet settings before you dumped your nand then they are the same.

here it's set to WPA and WPA2 TKIP+AES, using connection 1.
Everything set automatically. I'll try setting up IP and DNS manually.

I was changing the settings earlier when I didn't hold 'L' for the CFW and now I think I have sysnand and emunand on different ip's. I'll try making them the same

Nah, still nothin'. I'm gonna give up again and return to Gateway mode. Not much for me to gain here as of yet, anyway.

for everybody getting an failed to connect error while installing the dev menu try this (it worked for me after i got it a fe times, on 4.2):

start the cfw and start the browser. If you can go to other webpages return to the menu and try run again

Starting the browser crashes the cfw in server mode

Nah, still nothin'. I'm gonna give up again and return to Gateway mode. Not much for me to gain here as of yet, anyway.

Sorry for not being helpfull but that was my solution, obviously i tried several times (20), the first time it worked but devmenu wasnt showing on my 3ds so i updated, downloaded a demo, returned to 4.5 after that my 3ds was freezing a lot after turning off wifi but after several times it worked

9. Copy the CFW files in the 'SD Card' folder to the root of the SD card. Delete Launcher.dat and rename GW_Launcher.dat to Launcher.dat

There is no GW_Launcher.dat on the SD, that is on the micro sd. What i do here. (I get stuck here in the second tutorial)

And i do the main tutorial, but when i install the devmenu first says to uptade the console, i put cancel, then the program like msdos say that install something i restart,
the 3ds but not gift on the screen appears. I try to install the devmenu again but the msdos said something like "thearpp 1101" and then said "Pause" and nothing.

OMG The internet browser opened, then I closed it and the cia installed!!!

I tried again and it worked again, did the same thing.
Everyone else having issues should try opening the browser first

I tried to install the play coin setter, but it wouldn't let me import it...

to install the .cia to crt nand replace the 1 in run.bat to 0.

you can delete the old one (if your reinstalling) on the sd trough System Settings > Data Management > Nintendo 3ds > Software like any other demo/app
