Hi everybody, I played Animal Crossing Wild World in Desmume that saves in .dsv I converted the file save to NO$GBA format thanx to this site http://shunyweb.info/convert.php and then always thanks at that site I converted it to Acekard 2 format.
But the problem arises when I start the game from the nintendo, Akaio seems not reed the .sav file, but is in the folder! It has the same name of the nds file and in the settings there is like default format .sav.
Then I tryed to start the converted and started from the nintendo file with NO$GBA and it goes right! Akaio doesn't overwrite the sav file but it seems not detect it!

Help me please!

No way, i download akaio 1.9 but with it the game doesn't start (white screens)...
I've tryed everything, but I don't understand what means the size of the save, I put 2m like akaio's standard, never touched it...

I've started the game from 0 and today i played another game and the sav of Animal Crossing was deleted (the sav file was there but there was no save in the game)... I'm becoming crazy... please help me :(

p.s. the game only works with akaio 1.5 or ysmenu and ysmenu gives me the same problem...

firstly, using ysmenu can cause a brick of your acekard. assuming you are using a 2i then you can unbrick it, but why risk that?

animal crossing was fixed in akaio 1.4.1 when it forced a dma mode. a later loader update fixed the letter bug. then akaio 1.8.1 fixed the anti-piracy patch on slower msd cards. you are using 1.5 and back in those old versions of akaio there were a few issues that would cause problems. which is why i said to update. however, it is clear to me now that i'll need to type this out exactly.

1. format your msd card using the panasonic formatter.
2. put on a fresh clean copy of akaio 1.9.0 and not a previously backed up copy as that copy could be corrupted
3. update your akaio loaders (HOW TO)
3. put on a clean crc verified rom (US, EU) of animal crossing to test with, again not a previously backed up copy.

now start up the game and save, then reboot your nds and see if the save works

if it does not then try turning off patching such as cheats, soft-reset, etc, as these write to portions of ram that the game may be using

if it does work (regardless of how that happened), put on your converted save file and overwrite the save akaio created
if your save does not work you may have converted it incorrectly. from what i can recall you'll need a raw save file. make sure your emulator is set up correctly for the save size and type.

i know the game works because i played it for a time. the problem is either your software, your install, a corrupted file, a poorly/incorrectly converted save, etc.

You're fantastic! But I've not tryed yet...
I have some questions...

- What means "brick"?
- The file of akaio 1.9 gives me only 2 files: _aio (folder), akmenu4.nds. Where can I download the other two from?
- I remember that from this link of akaio 1.9 when i downloaded it in the top screen of the ds it says akaio 1.8.9, is, however, right?
- What are the akaio loaders?
- When you say "start up the game and save" I have to run the game and create a character, or only run the game and turn off the console (in that case the sav file will be created but when I restart it won't say "continue")?
- What shall I do if the rom gives me two white screens when I run it from akaio 1.9?

- The link of the clean animal crossing eu that you post me don't gives me any download link so I downloaded from *snip*, it seems good".

Thanks in advance for your kindness!!

I've tryed changind loader (the last from your link), with the old rom, microsd formatted by panasonic formatter 4.0, with akaio 1.9 and the _DS_MENU.DAT, _MENU_.NDS of the akaio 1.5 and without the sav and when I run the rom it shows me two wonderful white screens :gun::nds:

- What means "brick"?

you are using YSmenu and it can write to out of bounds areas that will brick your acekard bootloader. if you brick the ak 2/2.1 you are out of luck because the unbricking tool was never released. if you have an ak2i then you can simply reflash the bootlaoder. see this guide: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Updating_the_AK2i_Bootloader

- The file of akaio 1.9 gives me only 2 files: _aio (folder), akmenu4.nds. Where can I download the other two from?

the "other two" files are not acekard or akaio files, they are ysmenu files. please read this: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/AKAIO#Installing_and_updating

- When you say "start up the game and save" I have to run the game and create a character, or only run the game and turn off the console (in that case the sav file will be created but when I restart it won't say "continue")?

you need to save something in the game to make sure the save is working and loading.

- What shall I do if the rom gives me two white screens when I run it from akaio 1.9?

based on what you said so far you did not install akaio 1.9.0 correctly. the game should load fine if akaio was properly installed following the steps i typed above.

- The link of the clean animal crossing eu that you post me don't gives me any download link so I downloaded from *snip*, it seems good".

because that was not a link to an illegal rom file. that was a link to a info site that will show the CRC values of the clean rom dumps. you can then get the CRC value of the file you have and compare it to make sure your file is clean. if the values do not match then you have a bad rom.

Yes but if I put into the root only the _aio folder, akmenu4.nds and game folder, it gives me only the top screen with "Loading"

did you format the msd card before dropping on the _aio folder and akmenu.nds?

what is in your game folder? previously backed up games? if yes, any one of those could be corrupted and giving you an issue. this is why i suggested you debug by testing with just 1 rom that has been verified by CRC value to be a clean/good dump.

can you load a rom, play it, soft-reset, and then try loading animal crossing. did the 1st rom load fine and animal crossing is giving a white screen?

I've formatted it.
In the game folder there are Animal Crossing - Wild World.nds and Animal Crossing - Wild World.sav The rom and sav are backuped and I verified and the CRC32 code is the same, so the rom is clean..
If I put only the two files of akaio 1.9 it always remains in Loading screen...
If I put akaio 1.9 (two files) and the other two of the akaio 1.5 (_DS_MENU.DAT and _MENU_.NDS) akaio runs, but neither Animal Crossin nor Mario Kart DS (I put It now only for test) runs (white screens)...

I've done another test (with akaio 1.5) creating a new sav file from the game (saving), turn off and turn on, run the rom and the sav is recognized. Then I copied the sav file in the pc and deleted from the microsd, then I've put the old file (the file I want it loads) it don't be recognized.. then i delete the old file from the micro sd and replace it with the new that I've copied in the pc and now it isn't recognized anymore.

akaio boots and you can browse its interface and your game directory? when you click on the ROM it goes to "loading..." and gets stuck?

i just want to figure out exactly where it is freezing up on you. if it happens before akaio even loads then you probably have a contact issue, which is extremely common. if it happens after you click to load the rom then you could have patching issues. try turning off anti-piracy for that rom. more info: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/AKAIO#Rom_Settings_Button

No, akaio 1.9 does not boot, I turn on ---> nintendo security info ---> black loading screen.
With the other two files it boot and load without issues, white screens when i run the rom only.

to me it sounds like you are having a contact issue. contact issues can cause the acekard not to load, they can cause games to freeze or white screen, etc. each time you take out your card to put on different files for testing you are reseating it, and that is probably when you are getting a better contact.

animal crossing works in akaio. if your formatted your msd card and then drop on _aio and akmenu.nds, the game will work. if it is not then the issue is a contact issue, because everything else would have been ruled out by your testing (IE: fresh install, fresh format, verified clean dump, etc).

I "solved" changing microsd, the same microsd that does not run akaio, ysmenu and other kernels. It runs the r4 new shdc 1.35 kernel but I can play only Animal Crossing, with the save!!
