I have a PS3 Slim 160GB, and I buy quite a few digital games, including PS3 games. Of course, someday I might need a new drive, and that's where my questions come in.

1. Can I use any old modern SATA hard drive in a PS3, or do I need a special kind?

2. Will the old data on a new HD work just as well as the old HD?

3. How hard is it to remove a PS3 Slim's HD? Can I do it myself, or do I need to ask my computer guy?

1. Drive must have a size at or less than 1 TB and height of less than 9.5 mm.
2. Yes it'll be fine.
3. Easy, no need for professional help.

Can I use Phillips and flat head screwdrivers or do I need to invest in some Torx and tri-wings?

That's good to know, given Nintendo's love of tri-wings.

Now I just need to start looking for drives.
