Works Fine, on my 8.x emunand 3dsxl. In terms of being able to transfer the earned mons or items, I don't see that happening unless gateway cracks the higher level(fw) save encyption

You have to have the game inserted while at the same time running the demo to transfer your earned Pokemans over. Which means it's impossible unless you downloaded the game from the eShop.

If you want the rewards, you'll have to play the demo from the eShop. It has nothing to do with save encryption, as Pokemon Bank works flawlessly on the newest Gateway release.

do the 3ds pokemon games usually have slowdown? noticed some fps drop during a battle with 3d on, turning it off fixed it up though atleast. Just wondering, haven't played a 3ds pokemon yet.

ORAS is built off the X/Y engine, which had notable framerate problems. It's disappointing to hear Gamefreak still hasn't fixed those.

Even with the 3D off in X/Y, the framerate would dive in battles whenever a split screen occurred between trainer and opponent.

Interesting. Surprised that it still works oh well on the other hand it is a demo.

....Why it shouldn't?

I'm way more surprised about the amount of people expecting games to stop working with gateway so soon... 7.x encryption was first unloaded into youtube app then WAY later got into on game and EVEN LATER into many system processes of the nand.... Almost no games got it ( did even smash bross had it or it was just in need of 7.x system features like gateway said) , a 100 % of the games that are not of nintendo don't have it. It was cracked 1-1 1/2 months ago... and you really expect nintendo to deploy out of nowhere another encrpytion or security method JUST for pokemon without having tested it anywhere else??

Wouldn't it be theoretically possible to have a legit cart running in Classic Mode and do it that way? I've never used Classic Mode or own a physical cart, so I can't say from experience that it works. But I'll be getting a physical version of Omega Ruby so this'd be important to know for anyone else in the same boat as me.

Edit: I've also admittedly never played eShop games downloaded from anywhere other than the eShop, but I'm guessing the way these are played is that they go on the micro SD and are not installed on the menu like traditionally-downloaded eShop titles. If this is the case, then I can see how it'd be impossible to do this since you'd have to have the Gateway cart inserted to even play the demo.

Even if you play it on classic mode,
you demo is saved on the red card, not the home dashboard.

You need to have one on cart and one on home dashboard.

It's usually easier to have the demo on the home dashboard, and retail cart/rom on cart.

So what you're saying is I'd have to play the BBB release from the red card and it can't be installed on the home dashboard unless I legitimately download the demo straight from the eShop. Did I get that right?

Yup yup.

Same as Pokebank.

Unless you decided to buy the eshop version of ORAS, then it might work out. ><

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.
