I'm trying to build a CFG loader mod using latest source in googlecode with sixaxis support
However the prerequisite is that CFG should be running in IOS 58 mode...
I can't find any option for that?!?!
anyone?
Not exactly sure what you mean by IOS 58 node.
will adding
<arguments><arg>ios=58</arg></arguments>
to your meta.xml get you what you are looking for?

I mean USB access via IOS 58 since this is how the libsixaxis works
I've already tried that meta.xml trick and it didn't work
I'm looking for something like "Default Loader IOS" not "Default Game IOS"

I've installed HBC to my Wii U as well as d2x cIOSes / CFG USB Loader MOD beta71. Games runs perfectly from the my WD My Passport 2Tb, attached by the Y-cable. But I've encountered one issue - can't use EmuNAND option as on every start the CFG throws me an error "ERROR Mount! (ret = -6) Can't load Emu. NAND" & continue loading game using the internal vWii's NAND. There are these strings in the CFG's config.txt:

nand_emu_path = usb:/nand
And covers are loading fine, but not the Emu NAND.

HDD have the one partition in a FAT32 file system 32kb cluster's size. It's working well when unhidden using UStealth on my old Wii including emu NAND function.

Can anyone tell what may be a root of this problem, please?

added: Forgot to mention - I use different NAND for my Wii U dumped on it by the CFG. Also tried v52 & v53 d2x cIOSes.

added2: Have tried a different drive - the Transcend USB 16Gb flash stick - result is the same. As well as for the non-UStealthed partition.


The problem is that the emuNAND portion of the cIOS code has to read the file system (that's why it only works with FAT32 while Wii games can be just about any filesystem) and that code was never updated to be UStealth comaptible.

actually, just came across the solution to this
As some people may be aware that current cIOSX d2x doesn't work
for EmuNand of an UStealth drive.
So I made a small mod of d2x fat module to solve this issue.
I have tested on my Wii and vWii.They all worked no problem.

If anyone would like to install this "small mod" version of d2x(v10),
you can download the attached file (mod FAT module and source code)
then use d2x cios installer to install yourself. (just simply replace the
FAT.app with the original package from

my config loader suddenly stopped working.. it gets stuck on the loading graphic.. all my other homebrew and loaders work, so its not an IOS issue.. whats causing cfg to not boot and lock the system up?.. i already replaced the boot.dol.. dont know whats going on..

hello

i have a problem with xenoblade chronicles, when i try to load it the system turns off.
Im using an USB 32GB formatted into NTFS.

Is it because of the cios? i have d2x cios (last version) installed in slot 249.

Maybe someone can help? I have old Wii updated to 4.3E and use cfg70_r78, cIOS249[56]-d2x-v10-beta53-alt.wad
I am trying run wiware games from SD. I change "nand_emu_path = sd:/nand", extract my NAND to sd:/nand, download mighty.dol and neek2o.dol from CFG Update button.
Now I can see my WiiWare games and run it via mighty.dol, but compatibility not so good :( (as example Castlevania ReBirth hung on after logo KONAMI)
If I try to run through neek2o.dol, then all hangs in CFG USBLoader after string IOS249.... in console.
If I try use neek2o.dol with "nand_emu_path = usb:/nand" - games work perfect, but if I try exit game to wii system - all hangs on black screen :(
I want run wiiware games from SD (64Gb 10 class), what I must to do?

I've been trying to use cfg usb loader to launch Project M in the wbfs format off of an SD card and whenever I load the game it tries to reload an IOS, blocks the IOS, and then freezes the wii. Any suggestion on how to fix this? I have the most recent version of cfg usb loader.

Any version of CFG USB Loader hung on if Kirby's Adventure Wii [SUKP01] run from SD and in game I try start new game from clear slot.
If game started from USB HDD, then no problems. Also no hung on from SD if I continue game.
I think problem in CFG USB Loader.

It looks like people have got it to work by using Hermes cIOS Rev17. The thing is I can't install that Wii cIOS on on vWii. I've read about a d2x with a Rev-17 mode but I can't find one compiled anywhere. Any ideas?

My problem was with the cIOS I installed. I followed this tutorial very closely and as people in another thread figured out d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii breaks loading Wii backups from SDHC card. If you plan to use a SDHC card for Wii backups on Wii U vWii you must install d2x-v10-beta52-vWii.


Oh my god! This has been driving me crazy. I couldn't load Wii games from ANY SD card!
I'm getting this error when trying to load a Wii game from any SDHC card on vWii:
ERROR: setting up fragments -2 3
ID mismatch [TITLE] []
ERROR: SetWBFS: -3
The problem as you guys found out was d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii. I repeated the steps in the tutorial here and used d2x-v10-beta52-vWii instead. Now I can play both Wii and Gamecube backups from the same SD card. Wow!

For anyone else with this problem or future googlers, here are the steps cribbed from [Truth] to fix this error on Wii U vWii when using configurable USB Loader (cfg USB Loader) to load Wii backups or ISOs from an SD card or SDHC card:


Note: DO NOT install any Wii cIOS on Wii U vWii.

Lets go:
Download the following package:

1.) Extract the contents of vWii_cIOS_apps_20131218.zip to the root folder of your SD card.
Note: Make sure that you don't have any original Wii system files (like wads) on your SD Card!

2.) Launch d2x cIOS installer from the Homebrew Channel.

3.) Select cIOS : <d2x-v10-beta52-vWii> not d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii.
Select cIOS base : <56>
Select cIOS slot : <249>

4.) Press A to install and wait for installation to finish.

5.) Press A to continue.

6.) Select cIOS : <d2x-v10-beta52-vWii> not d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii.
Select cIOS base : <57>
Select cIOS slot : <250>

7.) Press A to install and wait for installation to finish.

8.) Press A to continue.

9.) Select cIOS : <d2x-v10-beta52-vWii> not d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii.
Select cIOS base : <58>
Select cIOS slot : <251>

10.) Press A to install and wait for installation to finish.

11.) Press B to Exit.

12.) Launch newest CFG USB Loader MOD from the Homebrew Channel.
Note: To copy game images from PC to your SDHC card with the correct folder names and structure, use Wii Backup Manager.

Hey, guys. Did anyone try that chinese cfg usb loader? Recently I downloaded that v71beta45 and it kinda works. Basically, I need that to be able to update my Nintendont easily without removing SD card from my Wii. But it broke multiplayer in my Call of Duty games. Game just can't to connect to its servers. Everything is fine with the official release of cfg loader. So, did anyone try new loader and is there any way to fix this issue?

The person that created the chinese cfg refuses to release his source which is a violation of CFG license aggrement. So the only place to get help is on the chinese site.

Their is an option in nintendont to download an updated version of it self. Why do you want to do it from within CFG?

Well, It is good to have everything in one place: launching every game on my Wii and updating soft for launching those games. :)
