Ok, i instaleed Dark Souls prepare to die edition on my PC (i installed it before and fixed it with DsFix for 60FPS instead 30FPS) and i tryed all versions of DsFix to unlock framerate to 60fps, but it's always 30fps.

Its driving me crazy, especially because i KNOW it worked before. What to do guys, please help if you had and fixed this issue. :(

This is where i downloaded dsfix: http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?tag=dsfix

Um....help?

OK so you didn't provide any information at all what's your rig, but it's possibility that you machine just isn't powerful enough to keep up with 60 FPS so that vsync then falls back to 30 FPS.

I don't own the game so I can't help that much but if you are having probems setting up DSfix, here is instructions and link to GUI for easier setup.

Actually my machine IS powerfull enough for 60 fps. I also played Dark Souls 2 in 60fps, and before that i installed Dark souls 1 and fixed the FPS issue and HAD 60fps, but now i cant.

Vsynced 60 FPS or barely 60 FPS as first Dark Souls was pretty bad PC port using GFWL. This is why I keep my specs on my steam profile so it's just easy to link to it if I have some problems.
I would simply remove game, delete files left behind excluding saves in %userprofile% and reinstall.

Do we have to take your word for it or will you post some specs?

As i said, i already played that same game, that i burned on DVD maybe a year ago. But than i stopped playing it because it was so hard and uninstalled it. i got to giant woolf. First off i fixed resolution and FPS issue and than i got to that wolf part. I newer play30fps games.

I just need help because i dont understand what to do and why the fix in not working now because it worked before..is it the wersion or i dont know..or different fix..i cant remember :(

About specs...

CPU: Intel Pentium G620 2X 2.60Ghz (dual-core)
GPU: Saphire radeon HD6770 1GB GDDR5
RAM: Kingston 4GB hyperX

(all my other games run much more than 60FPS..and i repeat..the PC CAN handle 60fps..i just need help about this fix please)

Make sure you're using the latest version of DSFix.

Make sure you put DSFix in the same directory as the DARKSOULS.exe. IIRC, the pirated version has the exe in just WhereverYouInstalledTheGame/Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition/ instead of /Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition/DATA

Also, can you copy your entire DSFix.ini and paste it (CTRL+Shift+V, so there's no formatting issues) here in a code tag ['code] [/'code] and a spoiler tag ['spoiler] ['/spoiler] (remove the ') like this ['spoiler]['code][/'code][/'spoiler]

Yo how are u so sure u can run at 60FPS m8? Dats sum pretty low-end parts you got in your computer dawg. Couldn't even run CoD Ghost at 60FPS if you crank up da settings. 6770 is only about as good as da Xboner. We all know da Xboner is sum week sh!t. So is your rig.

Yes, post the ini file.

Here you go my friend..you can see i modified only one thing and that is "unlockFPS 1" instead "unlockFPS 0"

Code:
# You can configure DSfix by editing this file
# Lines starting with "#" are ignored by the program and contain descriptions of the options

###############################################################################
# Graphics Options
###############################################################################

# internal rendering resolution of the game
# higher values will decrease performance
renderWidth 1920
renderHeight 1080

# The display width/height
# 0 means use the same resolution as renderWidth/Height
# (use for downscaling - if in doubt, leave at 0)
presentWidth 0
presentHeight 0

############# Anti Aliasing

# AA toggle and quality setting
# 0 = off (best performance, worst IQ)
# 1 = low
# 2 = medium
# 3 = high
# 4 = ultra (worst performance, best IQ)
aaQuality 0

# AA type
# either "SMAA" or "FXAA"
aaType SMAA

############# Ambient Occlusion

# Enable and set the strength of the SSAO effect (all 3 settings have the same performance impact!)
# 0 = off
# 1 = low
# 2 = medium
# 3 = high
ssaoStrength 0

# Set SSAO scale
# 1 = high quality (default)
# 2 = lower quality, lower impact on performance
# 3 = lowest quality, lowest impact on performance
ssaoScale 1

# Determine the type of AO used
# "VSSAO" = Volumetric SSAO (default, only option pre-1.9)
# "HBAO" = Horizon-Based Ambient Occlusion
# "SCAO" = VSSAO + HBAO
# "VSSAO2" = Volumetric SSAO with more samples (tweaked by Asmodean)
# VSSAO and HBAO types have a slightly different effect. and similar performance
# SCAO combines both, with a higher performance impact
# VSSAO2 is generally more accurate, but also requires more performance
ssaoType VSSAO

############# Depth of field

# Depth of Field resolution override, possible values:
# 0 = no change from default (DoF pyramid starts at 512x360)
# 540 = DoF pyramid starts at 960x540
# 810 = DoF pyramid starts at 1440x810
# 1080 = DoF pyramid starts at 1920x1080
# 2160 = DoF pyramid starts at 3840x2160
# higher values will decrease performance
# do NOT set this to the same value as your vertical rendering resolution!
dofOverrideResolution 540

# Depth of Field scaling override (NOT RECOMMENDED)
# 0 = DoF scaling enabled (default, recommended)
# 1 = DoF scaling disabled (sharper, worse performance, not as originally intended)
disableDofScaling 0

# Depth of field additional blur
# allows you to use high DoF resolutions and still get the originally intended effect
# suggested values:
# o (off) at default DoF resolution
# 0 or 1 at 540 DoF resolution
# 1 or 2 above that
# 3 or 4 at 2160 DoF resolution (if you're running a 680+)
dofBlurAmount 1

############# Framerate

# Enable variable framerate (up to 60)
# NOTE:
# - this requires in-memory modification of game code, and may get you banned from GFWL
# - there may be unintended side-effects in terms of gameplay
# - you need a very powerful system (especially CPU) in order to maintain 60 FPS
# - in some instances, collision detection may fail. Avoid sliding down ladders
# Use this at your own risk!
# 0 = no changes to game code
# 1 = unlock the frame rate
unlockFPS 1

# FPS limit, only used with unlocked framerate
# do not set this much higher than 60, this will lead to various issues with the engine
FPSlimit 60

# FPS threshold
# DSfix will dynamically disable AA if your framerate drops below this value
# and re-enable it once it has normalized (with a bit of hysteresis thresholding)
FPSthreshold 28

############# Filtering

# texture filtering override
# 0 = no change
# 1 = enable some bilinear filtering (use only if you need it!)
# 2 = full AF override (may degrade performance)
# if in doubt, leave this at 0
filteringOverride 0

Set "Skip Intro" to 1, see if that fixes it.

Did you make sure to turn off AA and Motion Blur in-game before you applied DSFix?

Ok, will do.

...Before?? no i just installed the game created it set up options and after i remembered that game runs @30fps i than inserted ini file and folder from DSfix...

But i know AA makes picture go in a little square, but as i remembered, motion blr did not bothered the preformance earlier...but will do...i will uninstall the game and than install it again..in a moment...

Oh shoot, instead of using the latest DSFix, try 1.9 Forgot the FLT release isn't updated like the Steam version is.

Ah man, you're a genius, it works like a charm! :D
Thanks a million..i was about to get balilstic and smash my PC xD

Yes, it's FLT release of the game :) ah, now i can finally lit some bonfires. :)

So FLT release = DSfix 1.9

Thanks my friend, you helped me a lot. :)

May the Sun be with you. :3
