So just because I dont like anything so should i just pretend i like it or just ignore it... Oh you're ofc you guys still have a dictator that explains your way of thinking. ;)

You don't have to. All you have to do is be civil and stop calling other stuff terrible just because you can't use it then bring up Microsoft's version of it.
I'd be a stretch not to call all that fanboyism. Shilling even.
Anyway I'm out.

Windows Server series falls short in the network services department. I'll admit I like what they've done with DHCP in 2012, which makes failover and load balancing very simple and manageable. DNS falls short however, and I suspect the same can be said for IIS. They simply cannot handle as many 'hits' per second as our *nix variants :)

EDIT: did i mention Windows DNS doesn't support split-view DNS?? WHAT???!!

Fact is fact.

if it doesn't then there is a 3rd part application for it.

Also, the difference is so low in how many hits it can handle that the extra features Windows and IIS has makes it worth it.
But yes, you got a good point there.

Also, can we take the rest of this discussion via PM i dont want this thread to go Offtopic, Thanks :D

How Linux fan works:

Nice job double posting just to show how butthurt you are.
Just stop already before you make yourself look even worse.
Unrelated but most complaints I've heard from people not liking Linux is hurr durr 2hard4me.

How Linux fan works:

All I have to say about that is:

[root@ns1 ~]# uptime
11:13:27 up 2156 days, 23:54, 54 users, load average: 1.07, 0.39, 0.46

For those of you who can't math (COUGH MS Fanboys), thats almost 6 years uptime :[

1.68% Sure EVERYBODY thinks that linux is better then Windows, and i must be butthurt for thinking that Windows is better then Linux... #SomePeople

Actually the difference is not low. I do load testing all day for work and load test against Nix and IIS servers all day. The Nix servers handle close to a 1/3rd more users while using 3/4th the amount of hardware that Microsoft based systems require. That isn't low at all. That is actually a very high difference. What features of IIS offer over Nix? It comes with a GUI environment? That is honestly the only one I can think of. Oh maybe you have to spend hundreds if not thousands on extra downloads that would be free or included in the Nix world to get the same functionality? Maybe you just hate using a / instead of a \ to separate out your file paths? Does your power company put you on the same budget the US Government gives its different departments? If you don't use all of your allotted power do you just not get as much next year?! :P

Personal opinion aside, just looking at the cold hard facts, there is a reason over 80% of the web servers on the planet run on Nix based setups.

Okay I will. *cough* Visual Studio Ultimate *cough*

Visual Studio Ultimate?! BAHAHAHAHAHAH. Please stop with the crazies while I am drinking coffee. Now I have to clean my monitor.

And this is coming from someone that was an awarded Microsoft MVP from 2009-2010. Dude. Just stop. You're digging a hole and we all know you're wrong.

Tell me on Linux option which is even close to Visual Studio? see, Eclipse don't even come close ;)
also, honestly that is to be expected as MSFT has invested millions in Visual Studio and Eclipse is freeware. so i can see why its worse.

You can use basically everything you do on windows on a linux server, there's mono for .net, good ide's like Xamarin(MonoDevelop)
and more if you want something like VS..

Well if you are using Eclipse for web development that is your own fault. For web development, and running a web server, you should never even need to think about Visual Studios AT ALL. If you are working on a web development project and the first thing that pops in your head is "Gee, you know what totally won't hinder my development and would be a pretty good idea? Visual Studio" then you might as well go to the toilet, grab a fresh poo, and smear it on your face because that is exactly what you would be doing to your project.

You're trying to shoehorn in other use cases that have nothing to do with how horrible IIS is for hosting a web server and you're not going to win. I suspect you are even starting to realize this as you are reaching so far into the Microsoft fanboy bag of tricks. Look, I am sure you mean well and I do not know you but based off your avatar I would assume that you are maybe at most in your early 20's. Yes, Microsoft looks great now because you know it and use it. However if you're going to be a web developer and run a business off it, do yourself a favor and keep an open mind. Try out other platforms and try to learn why over 80% of web developers host their sites on them. If anything, you'll save a ton of money on your hosting. If you want to save a ton on insurance, switch to GEICO.

far more stable. Fact.

That claim is completely ridiculous. Windows is just as stable as Linux, I've been using Windows for 7 years and haven't experienced any crashes (except as the result of me screwing things up). Both operating systems have their advantages and drawbacks, and the choice often comes down to personal preference. I myself have found Windows to have a far better and more advanced kernel than Linux, but liked many other aspects of the Linux userspace.

Marionumber1 is there anyway to acquire "struct VPADStatus" or do i need to recreate it?

Early 20's :O well you are off with 5.4 years. Sure I wear a suit every day, and sure people say that I look like im 17 but "Early 20's" i will take that as a compliment, thanks :D

I'm sure a majority of the people on this forum use Windows as their daily driver every day. Heck I use Windows and Chrome OS as a daily drivers. However as a hosting platform, it under performs and cost more to operate, both in hosting fees and energy required to run it. It just statistically is not as good. The whole reason I even brought it up in the first place was because I was deciding whether or not to donate money and realistically, it does not make sense to donate money towards a hosting platform that cost way more then what we need or is required for this exploit. Personal preference aside, it is economically irresponsible.

Not getting into that argument, I was just pointing out that there is not a difference in stability between Windows and Linux.

You'd probably need to take it from the SDK.
