I call it fake since it's third party. Not official nintendo made. Plus look at the box carefully. "Wii Remote required". Note that the Official GameCube Adapter from Nintendo plugs into the Wii U with two USB plugs and allows you to plug in 4 GameCube controllers. No Wii Remote required here. So what it really is, is a Classic Controller Pro in a GameCube controller shell, NOT a GameCube controller.

But the point of this topic is, shouldn't we be able to use these controllers for devolution? I mean since they plug into the wii remote, i'm assuming it'll act like a classic controller. Meaning devolution should be able to detect it. If that's the case, and if it'll have the L&R analog triggers, then this could be the closest thing to a real gamecube controller to use with devolution on the Wii U. What do you guys think? Would it work?

Also, I know this won't work with nintendont. Unless blue tooth support is added to it.

Those aren't fake controllers.

Yes, they are third party controllers that have been endorsed/licensced by Nintendo but they don't claim to be GameCube controllers. Even the description puts them as "replica" controllers of the GC as they are actually Wii classic controllers that have been modified to look and act like GC controllers. This is to make it more accessible for people who have been programmed to use GC controllers for the Smash series like Melee and Brawl.

As for Devolution, I have no idea what that will promise or do.

How do you load your games? My Wii U has a y cable in both the back usb ports.

i run my GC games off an sd card With nintendont and my hard drive only needs one usb cable (doesn't need a y cable its a Toshiba 1TB but i use that for wii games. It can be plugged into a mac and windows without having to reformat it

u can always buy a usb charger for the power side of that Y Cable 5V at 500mA
to 1000mA then that will free up your other usb port for anything u want to use it for.

i dont think they're Wii u pro controllers, im pretty sure they're Wii classic controller pros, if they were Wii U pro controllers there'd be no reason to have them plug into a Wii remote

Can you explain a little more about this? I want to play nintendont by loading the games from the hard drive. Since I don't have a big enough memory for them all.
