I know there was a custom firmware in the works a while back. Whatever happened to it?

Do 3DS mode flashcarts now work on recent firmwares?

Do DS mode flashcarts still work on the 3DS?

I'll be getting a 3DS soon but I want one that can play DS mode flashcarts for sure. It also needs to be compatible with the Circle Pad Pro...

Please educate yourself in reading the stickied topics found in the 3DS Hacking and Homebrew section. A lot of your questions could be answered there. ;)

What's with all the "I'm lazy and cba spending 5 mins reading up so you do it for me" threads lately

I don't see why its such a hassle, if you're already knowledgeable and can answer these questions to just answer them. I'd look them up myself but for one, I've got a dialup connection and loading just one of these pages would take about minutes for me, and 2, I don't even know where to begin. You think having these stickies makes it easy but its a hassle to go through them to find what I want. These are just simple yes/no questions. if you know the answers, answer them. If not that's fine but don't be pretentious pricks...

To quickly answer your questions:

1) No.
2) DS mode carts still work on the 3DS, yes. - for the most part, they do anyway. It depends on what DS chip you picked up. I'd recommend a DSTwo.

The thing is that it's just an ubiquitous question that's been asked, and some days people get irritated by it. ;) It's been happening a lot more than not.

No need to be rude. We tend to be less helpful once the name-calling starts.

Well, gamesquest did call me lazy. I think the name-calling started with him.

Thanks for the answers...

Not only you, but still there is everything you need to know in the stickies, what other way would you explain someone who would rather sit back and expect everyone to break everything down for them....... When the stickies already do that anyway, I can understand when the question would require more that 2 minutes of reading but your don't they are literally the first things in the stickies

Also there is a "noob questions" thread for this kind of thing, I have no issues helping people out if they post in the appropriate section, it's just that everyone seems to think they their version of the same question that has been posted every day deserves it's own new thread, if people stick to the "noob questions" thread things would be a lot tidier and know they are heading into copy and paste the same answer every day territory

And also there is a big difference between saying someone is lazy for expecting to be spoon fed everything and calling someone a prick for not spoon feeding you

He asked a couple simple questions, man. Instead of answering them, you acted like you were put out about it. It took you longer to type up your smarmy comment and insult him (intentionally or not) than to just help the guy. So yeah, kind of prick-ish behavior. If you didn't want to help, all you had to do was click the back button, yet you took the time to write a inflammatory reply. Not cool. Please don't turn GBATemp into the douche-filled cesspools other forums have become. Help, or don't, but please keep it civil.

As someone who has helped alot of people on here I don't mind helpin newbies find their feet or understand the information, but when someone just outright says they cant be bothered looking it's a bit insulting to everyone who has wrote countless help sections and posts to help people like himself understand everything there is to know on the situation, yeah I might of been a bit rash but it seems every day lately people are just opting to ignore every thread and make there own individual thread, even on the first page it's filled with people who think that they have some unique question that has never been asked a hundred times before, I have plenty of time to help people who have tried to help themselves first
