Creator of the Mortal Kombat series Ed Boon has today announced Mortal Kombat X via twitter.

"The name of the game is "Mortal Kombat X"

Lovely news if I don't say so myself, Lets just hope they add more serial killers, also if thats the real gameplay than I'm sold. This is only going to be the only game I'm going to buy, since I'm starting to dislike the 3D genre for some reason, but MK is an exception in that hand .

If i could like your comment a thousand times. I would. That type of music better not be in the game, it completely ruined what was a really good teaser for the game.

Im curious how much of that footage was gameplay and how much was cutscene. There were parts of it that really did look like it was a movie but other parts that looked like gameplay. Pipped my interest tho for sure! I loved MK9!

Yeah, well I find it an annoying (mostly) American trend to use rap for game trailers involving:
- ancient Rome
- renaissance
- colonial period
- american civil war period
- space opera in the distant future
- supposedly epic fighting scene involving two ninja-like characters in a forest

That's stupid and distasteful to me. But I understand it caters to the teens/college/bro demographics, so, it is what it is.

As for the word "ghetto", just used it for the lack of more specific understanding of music genres on my part.

Can't wait for this. I hope it goes back to what Deadly Alliance / Deception / Armageddon brought to the table and becomes a 3D fighter. Mortal Kombat 9 was pretty good, but I would prefer the 3D direction the game took, plus the story was pants-on-head retarded.

Eh. Mortal Kombat games had consistently good soundtracks up until MK9 I think, it was just very boring and generic.

who's to say he can't freeze the fractures/ligaments in his leg (temporary fix) so he could continue fighting? Besides, scorpion being frozen without catching frostbite isnt realistic either. MK as a whole bends the laws of common sense as it is.

My info, speculations, and inferances are not accurate as it might not realise on the previous gen.

Still this looks amazing always been a fan of the first Arcade mk games and mk9 was really badass.
