what could they possibly do? They cant force updates, they probably cant even ban the system. They could block the ID and thats likely it.

Why can't they ban the system?
Not to mention there could be backdoors we are unaware of.

Nothing is stopping Nintendo from banning consoles based on ID the same way Microsoft can ban 360s serverside. Not much can be done after the unique console ID is banned apart from getting a new console ID.

That would mean they would ban the legit owner of the real cart which is unlikely, so they probably won't ban the system.

Anyone tried to use a .3dz in more than one system and could play online with both of then? Os is the .3dz tied to your system?

They could easily require you to provide proof that you actually own the cart (not hard) and have the console. The other(s) would stay banned without appeal. It's not as hard to ban a console from an online service as you make it sound :)

So I renamed my Pokemon X dl-ed rom as 3dz, and it says invalid 3DZ file.

In other news,
I could use my save dump for MK7 after redumping the game myself. YAY

I'm gonna dump all my games and saves now.

Too bad my Pokemon Y was played on another 3DS on FW6 :/

scene releases won't work as 3DZ

How did you make your save file work with MK7? I dumped my game and save but it won't register

I know, just re-confirming the information.
If only I can add my own ID in...

I redumped my MK7, because my previous dump caused the game save corrupt.
(previous dump made on GW 2.1 Omega, not sure if that made a difference).

After that, I renamed the MK save to the weird numbered save.
(0004000000030800.sav)

My MK7 is of the US release.

Thanks, renaming the save did the trick

Nintendo never bans do they ? I mean they never did with the DS nor the Wii so I don't see why they would start now
Nintendo did ban users from smash bros brawl, and mario kart wii. There was a ocarina code that was able to unban you tho :P And some said if you called nintendo you got a 1 time unban.

You know threads wouldn't be as long if people didn't post asking for others to read the previous posts for them.

And if people wouldn't respond to the post asking otheres to read the post, this thread would be at least 1 post shorter :)

I don't think there are Pokemon X redumps with the online code,
since people fear being banned.

Plus I probably won't be able to port my save over, since it's a different game.
If Gateway's next version comes out with a patched savegame aesmac function, (to ignore fails) we can transplant saves from one cart to another. This weekend we're posting the method/tool to decrypt x/y with a full plaintext exploit.

OK, here are the results of the Pokemon Y experiment that gamesquest1 asked me to do.

To recap: Dumping my retail cart that was played on a retail unit with sysNAND on current firmware resulted in a corrupted save when loading it up on Gateway.

New experiment: To make my cart as much like a pure Gateway user as possible, I took my retail cart and began to play it on my Gateway (which of course required me to delete my save since it detected it as corrupted) on up to date emuNAND. I then restarted the game, made it connect to the network (which acquired the online ID again), and then saved. After this, I dumped the cart again. Once done, I loaded it up on the microSD and renamed it .3DZ. The game loads and recognizes the save as valid. It connects to the network (I got a couple of network errors but it eventually connected after a couple of retries). It also did not say that it was obtaining the online ID this time around either.
