Hi,

I was going to play Paper Mario today and after starting the game within a few seconds a black screen pops up on the bottom screen and says An error has occurred please power down. It also does it on most roms. I've tested the gateway card in both 3DS's and the same happened on both. Why is this happening does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Did you trim the roms?
Have you tried using a different micro-sd?
Have you tried formatting your microsd?

No trimming just exfat. No have not got another to try. Have not formatted yet because I will have to start again on a 64GB M-SD card putting 50 roms back on it but do you think I might have to do it again do you think its the M-SD card? I have tried to put the rom back on the card but still the same I have also downloaded from a different source but still the same!

If I have to format it again and start over again what is the best Program to do it with and what settings?

It does work fine on another Micro SD card so what do I do?. Just format the 64GB one and start again?

Whats the best Micro SD Card program to format and start again?

Probably data corruption or poor quality SD
Follow this steps:

Delete launcher.dat on your 3ds SD and recopy again (clean installation)
Run the blue card's Gateway Installer and follow the instructions given on the screen.

I've solved same problem. Good luck

From what I've heard exfat support is still fairly buggy, because of the huge variety of micro sdcards, half of which if not more are poor quality knock offs. I've heard that some of them will show the proper size but the size of the memory chip itself is smaller. So try with it formatted regular fat32, if it works you may just have a poor sd.

Sorry m8 but that does not work but thanks for the try!. I'm going to have to format the card again and start from scratch. Its not down to a cheap micro-sd card this is a top of the range Premium 300x Transcend 64GB Micro-SD card so I don't think its the card at fault, I hope!

The card might just say transcend on it, doesn't necessarily mean it truly is. The Chinese mafia are sneaky you know.

The card was from a Memory UK specialist outlet m8 I doubt very much it is dodgy I also paid full whack, know knock of price! I'm using Doctor recovery tool, see if that does anything but else its a format job and start over again with 50 roms to go :(

Your ROMs may be corrupted, try running ScanDisk on the card and see if it picks up on anything.
Then do a FULL format, not a quick format (will help to map bad blocks on the card so it doesn't try to use them), and transfer fresh copies of your ROMs across, don't use the ROMs you already had on the card since they may be corrupted.

Use the formatting tool linked above.

Ran Scan Disk, nothing it says all OK so its going to have to be formatted and start again, damn! :(

If you have a raspberry pi, the unbricking trick should also work to unlock your mSD. but seems like you got a bunk card either factory faulted or who knows what.

I've just bought it so I will send it back have just got in touch with them.I shall not be buying a Transcend card again that is for sure!
You can delete and add files again but it wont format with any tool or reader it just keeps saying its locked!

With hacks and such like this it may not have been the quality so much as just the way the blocks are mapped, or even the few MB difference between manufacturers. Some Wii homebrew is exceptionally picky about what SD you use, beyond just SDHC or not.

I'm going to swap it for a San-Disc Ultra instead which is what I should of bought in the first place but no being stupid I thought I would go for the Transcend Premium 64GB cause it had 5 star ratings from others!.

Buy what you have seen other people on this or others forums saying is working for your best chance.

Assuming you're using a mSD->SD adapter for your card reader, I'd double check the adapter itself to make sure it's not the source of the write-lock.
