Hacking Question about mt card and other nintedo devices

I have a mt card for my 3ds and it works fine but what would happen if i put it into a nintendo ds lite? will it crash the system or what? im thinking that i might brick it or not even detect it. Has anyone tried this?

you cant put it into a ds as it has a notch to prevent the card from inserting
it would most likely do nothing and not detect it (this is the white card we are talking about)
