I used gateway 3ds to setup a 16gb SD card with emunand. Obviously now I have the Emunand partition on there so my total available size is listed as 13.9gb, the problem comes in that my free space is listed as 3.87 gb's, but the files on the gateway only account for 100 megabytes... where did my other 10 gigabytes go?

Tried seeing if windows for some reason somehow changed itself to put a recycle bin folder in there, but nothing. No hidden files, no system files, just the normal stuff.

Anyone have any ideas?

Attached picture demonstrating the problem.

*Edit* My first thought was to just backup and then format it, but before doing anything I want to check to be sure that won't cause other issues. Also knowing why this happened would be nice too.

I would back everything up into a folder then recheck the size of the folder. Then use emuNAND too to extract the emuNAND to a bin file. If the file size checks out, reformat the SD card. Put the launcher.dat file back on the SD card. from there relauch the gateway menu and reformat the emuNAND. inject the emuNAND backup with the emuNAND tool, and finally drag the backup files to the SD card. What are the AMKE files, and what size are they?

EDIT: I have a 500GB HDD formatted to fat32. I thought the 4GB limitation pertained only to max filesize.

it does, i misread what he was saying. the AMKE files look like a rom run through the gateway rom splitter.

Well, I don't know what happened, or where the AMKE files came from. I'm simply making full dumps of my 3ds cartridges using the gateway mode. Maybe one of the games that popped up as an error? I did a backup of the 3ds folder, launcher.dat, and the .sav files.. and reformatted.. and now everything is working without problems. I'll try to pay attention to everything a bit closer and see if I can reproduce the bloat again. At first I thought maybe after I dumped the game and copied it off it wasn't really leaving the cartridge, but dumping a game just now worked fine, so maybe the errors when trying to dump caused it.

AMKE appears to refer to Mario Kart 7, which did fail to copy, so who knows.
