Depending on how these next few weeks play out it may well be the current sales structure of 3ds carts. Wish GW would answer their emails... I've been lurking on some Chinese boards (thank Fuck for Google translate) - seems they are hating on both GW and EVO for this sort of tactic in updating. Their general census seems to be wait 6 months for the next competitor lol.
There is still the chance 2.0 comes out, considering 4.5 is still relevant to some degree (still a good fair amount of stock of 3ds with 4.x). Surely the first 6.x exploit cart would be screaming about it on every page.

Sorry if that didn't come out as coherent as it sounded in my head - sleeping pills and posting from phone.

Chinese forum aka duowan bbs? If not, look at this http://bbs.duowan.com/thread-38105434-1-1.html

That's the one, combed it for all relevant GW posts. Think it was after seeing you mention that site on the speculation thread.

Ahh yeah. Its good to lurk on that site. Being a chinese site I figured they would have the most up to date information until they are somehow brought across to western media.

Despite the card already starting off with a sketchy pre-reputation, I think it'll lead somewhere good.

Ok thanks i thought it was eshop because its not a really good game(for me) to be a rom and i think a lot of people alredy played it on an iphone or an android for free

Seeing how the MT-card and GW are priced, should we see a price around $60-$80 for Evo3ds?

I saw on a store that it was 80$ but i dont think thats the final price

Until their work becomes open source or at the very least more readily available (which is unlikely), the price will likely be around this mark since they effectively own a monopoly on the market. When there are more competitors, price will go down. When there are free solutions available, price will go down. Judging from current events, its extremely likely the price of 3ds carts remain $60-$80++ with a tendency to be on the higher side.

Food for thought: If the 6.x exploit were to be confirmed, this opens up a huge possibility in terms of competing 3ds flash carts. Pretty much all new boxed 3DS XL sets are 6.x. That means that there is greater incentive for people to capitalize on the larger market. Larger market = More Sales = Increase in 3DS flash carts 'companies' = Decrease in average price for said 3DS flash carts. Within the coming months, on both the piracy front and homebrew front, there should be something exciting. (Though if the 6.x exploit is non-existent, prices will remain as they are. There's no need for them to lower their prices if they themselves control the market)

Yeah. I find games like Cut The Rope and Doodle Jump to be ridiculous on a 3DS. The price alone... If it were free but ad supported that'll make sense but shelling $15-$40 for such games? No thanks, I'd rather not.

As for the $80 price, it's probably a "presell price". They're just basing the price on GW's retail price. Expect it to be likely more when it arrives. It's feature packed and essentially one of a kind so I'd imagine they would charge through the roof for that.

My own opinion? I wouldn't get it. I'm a GW owner and soon to be MT owner. Most of you remember the chinese leak/rumour/speculation about the entire 6.x exploit and flash card stuff right? I'm just waiting for new events/news to corroborate with the chinese leak. Because IF the chinese leak is accurate, it would mean that MT-card is up-datable to support new features (whether or not it will be done is another question, there are just so many assumptions being made at this point of time). Hence if you own a GW or MT, don't buy it. Wait for a while, your card might get a new update or failing so, at least the Evo3ds will have a slight price drop. IIRC, GW cost close to 100 when it first came out then it averaged out to 70-80.

It's my plan too, to wait at least awhile. It is hard as a GW owner because here are all the features we are promised and have been waiting for so the temptation is strong. And we have not heard from GW for awhile, so it makes it even harder.

My hope would be that GW would at least give us some info if not the actual update before Evo3DS is released, so we can at least make an informed decision. I don't see what they gain from being quiet. Even if speculation threads are true, a dear john letter from GW would probably still have the net effect of more Evo3DS sales from people on the fence.

I'm going to buy the Evo3ds and try out I guess. Also on the front page, if you scroll down, there's a picture of the card. Is that how is it going to look like?
