Devolution is a great application, maybe not the greatest piece of software on the scene but it is a very nice addition thanks to Tueidj.

After reading for a while I understand most of arguments people brought to the forum and most of what they said are valid points but at the same time the whole discussion is pointless.

Why:

1. The author made it clear since very long ago when this project was a concept that he understood his application may be used for piracy therefore he added AP to it. He didn't do it to prevent piracy on GC games, he did it to prevent piracy through his application solely.

2. This application is given free to anyone therefore demands don't have any place here.

3. Argumentation/flaming etc here won't make the author change his mind on what he did.

The bottom line is that Devolution wasn't developed to be the Ultimate Solution to anything. It is a very nice application that many people with the appropriate resources will enjoy while others may not do very well due to the way the application was created.

In my humble opinion if you feel Devolution will give you many headaches then avoid/restrain yourself from using it. There are other options out there that do the job very nicely.

Too sad you took the time to write this! It's not pointless!!! I believe your post is!!! And is one of the best software apps in the Wii/Wii U Homebrew scene!
There are no demands!!! For Wii U users is exactly the ultimate solution!!!

Look around you, look up, and look down. What do you see? People requiring instant gratification. People who want a perfect life who have nothing but high expectations. A life filled with greed (and relative to the scene) gives nothing in return. All of this applies exponentially to "the scenes."

Sometimes part of me wished that Tueidj released this to:

Show that it can be done.
Remind people how pathetically greedy they are for wanting a perfect life and accepts nothing less.

It's obvious I'm reaching a state of inebriation and should back away from the computer before making any posts. Tueidj did what he did because it's his program and he can do whatever he wants with it.

Some people did but didn't feel like sharing it for a variety of reasons.

And then there's the vast number of people that simply don't give a shit and use alternatives, like DIOS MIOS, a Wode, some other hardware mod, an emulator, a chipped GC itself, etc.

Can you really confirm someone actually cracked it? I would love to give it a try! I have orignal GC discs but cant use them since I have a Wii U and a Wii verison that doesnt read GC discs.

They're not sharing so I don't have a copy. Some reputable people mentioned it way earlier in this thread, back when more people still gave a damn.

6. Do we really want to get out broken disc drives fixed? That would really defeat the purpose of the USB loader. Not to mention the current Wii models that lack GC support.

While a few members still would love to see audio streaming for GameCube for Wii and Wii U with no AP . Some progress has been made and we need to help with adding all the DSP to the compatibility list .

and he said it was not easy to crack as well, had to do some research on undocumented stuff. then he proceeded to talk down to me after explaining it about how I shouldn't use it since I don't like the anti-piracy and I wouldn't use this app even if a cracked version was released as the AP itself is hypocritical.

but being the smart dude tueidj is, he covers his tracks well so a lot of the hypocrisy is circumvented because "its not in a country where it applies".

Indeed, unless Gamecube games are still being pressed by Nintendo and 3rd party developers, then all games must be bought used or bought from a re-seller as still new and sealed (though why you'd want to open a sealed game at this point is beyond me).

Having to use a Wii to set this up for the Wii U entirely defeats the purpose. While I admire the coder's stance, it honestly doesn't make sense for anything aside of modern games that are still being pressed. He's not having an impact on the piracy scene either way honestly.
