Gaming LEGO Marvel Superheroes... for DS?

I'm confused why they would release a game for the DS in this day and age, especially since they aren't releasing one for Wii, only Wii U.

Additionally, I've seen a few sites (walmart, gamestop, etc) say it's not coming until February or March of next year.

Does this strike anyone else as odd? I'm wondering if that even exists or if it's 3DS only and somehow a DS version was announced accidentally. Especially since the last few Lego games were 3DS/Wii U only...
