Hey Vita fans, we’ve got some great news to share with you today. Since its reveal at the Tokyo Game Show, many of you have asked when the new PlayStation Vita model will be coming to North America. Today, we’re excited to announce the new PS Vita Wi-Fi model (PCH-2000 series) will be available via the Borderlands 2 Limited Edition PlayStation Vita Bundle this Spring. The bundle will include the new slim PS Vita system in black, the first-person role-playing shooter hit Borderlands 2 with six DLC packs, and an 8GB PS Vita memory card – all for $199.99 (MSRP).

This is a good bundle, honestly.
You get a game (unsure how well it runs since we still have yet to see a trailer or a screenshot) and an 8GB card which is decent.

I will pick this up as I only played a small part of the game 360.
I just hope it's a solid port and I imagine a lot of publishers will be keeping an eye on this one to see how well it does, hopefully to open the flood gates for more AAA's for Vita.

I think we're in for a good port. They wouldn't have kept it in the pipeline for this long unless it's going to handle decently. T-hug's right, if this does well and runs well, the Vita might be viable.

I want this. I have a Vita already, but I haven't seen it since I moved to a new house. It's been almost a year, so I've given up. I might get this bundle if it's still available in the summer.

So at this point it's all but confirmed that the Vita TV won't be leaving Japan, then. The idea sounded interesting, but I'm kind of glad it doesn't seem to be gaining traction, honestly.

I'm also a bit worried that we've seen absolutely nothing of the Borderlands 2 port, when it's apparently coming out in the next 3-4 months. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Which you prefer OLED or LCD ? I might pick up OLED version from pawn store someday. Not right now. :)

Probably most people will notice a big difference when the consoles are side by side. When the consoles are looked at as single consoles, the difference will hopefully be minimal if even in existence.

As for the news, we're getting there! The price is very competitive compared to the 3DS and the deal is quite solid.

I totally would have shared this with all of you when the news was fresh around 12 hours ago, but the silly old server didn't agree. Regardless, there is still a surprising lack of a release date considering they announced even a bundle at this point, as well as all of the content that will come with Borderlands 2 on the Vita. Borderlands 2 for the Vita has certainly been a bit of a mystery, as little is known about it. Hell, I haven't even found an online shop besides Newegg that is offering pre-orders for it. I'm actually going to Gamestop later for a totally different reason, but I'll probably see if they actually have a reason as to why this game is such a ridiculously big mystery that they aren't even taking pre-orders for it yet, despite the fact that there was supposed to be a spring release date before 2K games decided their tweet was actually a mistake.

Anyways, I'm pretty excited for this game to hit the Vita, and it's a must buy for me. I just hope that the lack of available pre-order option in stores doesn't mean that they intend to release it exclusively as a PS Store game. If they pull that, I would legitimately feel like I was being scammed into purchasing a new memory card due to Sony's clear interest in promoting this game's release.

Hell yeah. Nevermind the slim but at least Borderlands 2 will be out about! Part of me was convinced it was one of those grandiose titles announced and never released, like BioShock Vita.

I'll answer that once I get my slim. (Have placed an order from Japan)

90% of people I have asked with a vita slim says the OLED pays the camera. In other words the slim's LCD is not as good to record with camera as the OLED.
They all told me that the LCD looked better in real life than on camera.

Just what vita needed: another damn port.
I guess cross-multiplayer makes it bit easier to play with friends but still there's already splitscreen and online play with PS3 version which were given free for plus members...

We need more ports.
Preferably PS2 ports.

A few things:
1) This is a port that has had a lot of time spent on Vita optimization. Seriously. They announced this around six months ago and are still working on it. That's a lot of time for porting these days. It shows that they're really putting time into it. Thus, it should be a pretty good port, not like the Jak & Daxter HD collection was on the Vita.

2) They're porting a damned fine game, and there are people like me that have barely had the chance to play it who will happily jump right on top of this offer. All because you have both a PS3 and a Vita, thus, get the most out of PS+, doesn't mean everybody else does. Just because you have a home console and the means necessary to play the game does not mean everybody else does.

3) The free version was the no frills, vanilla Borderlands 2. Borderlands 2 on the Vita will apparently come with six packs of DLC included, which is really only fair considering the price of the GOTY version on the likes of the 360. In the long run, buying all of that DLC on the PS3 will equal, if not exceed the price of Borderlands 2 on the Vita, so really, was getting it for free on PS+ that great of a deal? Not to mention that your DLC you buy for that PS+ title is only good for as long as your PS+ membership is.

As well, like I said, this was announced over six months ago. If you're just now complaining because you don't like the idea of the Vita getting ports, you are pretty far behind.
