I was wondering if it's possible to use project m on super smash loaded from my external hdd? I was wondering if it's possible seeing how one of the steps is to insert the sd after the game loads

You can also put the files in the proper folder on your SD card, then load an unmodified US Smash ISO with the cheats from Project M enabled. That's what I do.

With project m on the sd, I don't have to remove it before loading the iso then, right?
No, there's no need to remove the SD card. As long as you have the files in the correct places and cheats set up it will work. Note that for cheats, you will need to move the cheat file to whatever folder your USB loader uses for cheats, which might be a different folder than for the disc-based method.

still having some trouble. I load SSBB from my external HDD and i go into vault and stage builder and still nothing. I deleted the stages already and nothing happens, is there something im missing? I put my cheats folder into the vwii codes folder and everything else on the root of my sd other than the launcher which went in my apps folder where my other apps go

What loader are you using? I couldnt get it to work with wiiflow, no matter what I did, so I just went for the iso biilder method and that worked like a charm. If you are using wiiflow, then better try another loader or build yourself a modified iso

Don't do the stage builder thing. That is for people with a real disc and without the homebrew channel.

Get the homebrew version of PM and put that on your card instead.

Then in your USB loader you need to change the launch options for Brawl. Set Ocarina to On and make sure the hooktype is VBI (or something like that).

Now launch the game and the codeset will apply, and you should see the Project M splash screen.

Yeah, you don't need an ISO builder or anything like that.
You need an NTSC ISO of Brawl (can't tell you where to find that), the homebrew version of Project M, USB Loader GX, and these Ocarina codes.
Once you find yourself an ISO of Brawl and put it into the corresponding directory on your hard drive, create a folder on your SD card called "Codes", and inside that put the RSBE01.gct I've linked above.
Unzip Project M and copy its "ProjectM" folder to the root of your SD card. Then on USB Loader's settings of Brawl, set Ocarina to On, and set the Hooktype to AXNextFrame.

You can use any version of Project M with this method, even the newer "Community Complete" or "3.61" releases.

Thanks! BTW Don't worry about Brawl, my friend has a disc so I can burn it LEL
