My 3ds is bricked and I was using the region free patched loader!!

Now we wait until this code is released for an older firmware, it is patched so that all the malicious code is gone, or until gateway 3ds gets their act together and removes the code themselves.

can you tell us what you did when it bricked, as 1 Bricking item was patched (integrity check)
so you might be able to give us a hint

if you could post a Picture of the Bluescreen that would be fantastic

Well, just booted into region free emunand (didn't press L when loading profile) and start playing my retail pokemon X game on emunand 7.1
After playing, I opened the Settings app (of the emunand) and I press X to quit.
Then BSOD. It didn't quit the settings app and go back to 4.5 NAND: bricked after pressing X in settings.

I precise that I have no GW clone.
So I never used any clone firmware.
Only official GW's firmware and the region free patched FW

Same sad story here.. Used patch played for like 2 hours went to sleep and bam woke up to a bricked console. I only tried it once too.

I guess I'm lucky to not have gotten my precious Japanese 3DS bricked from using this patch. I'm very paranoid now though.

Since I guess this works in "Gateway's emunand" and not in the "Classic mode" emunand, netplay won't work, am i right?

Does streetpass work, though?

This mod is not safe....even if you have already used it please remove it immediately...yeah I got bashed for warning people before...yeah even though I said just incase.......thanks for that guys guess you should of heeded the warning before claiming it was 100% safe and bashing people who suggested it might not be

But this patch is not safe and can brick your 3DS, gateway have said they will release region free mode for classic mode in their next update, just wait for that.....or maybe the big scene members will find the actual brick code and remove it this time

It's unsafe to use a modified version of the 2.0 beta 2 launcher.

is it possible to make patch working on 1.2 firmware? also, i think, bricks only happen to the people who used emunand.

I think the patch offsets would be different, I'm sure someone could look into it, but gateway have said they will include the feature in their next update, I know people will be skeptical about gateway, but let's face it has anyone else's work been "safe" at this point?

Wow, thank, I was even going to buy a retail game (I imported my 3DS) and try it for myslef. thank god I have a nand copy, always, better safe than sorry.
