Before you guys take my head off, I love Nintendo and Mario games...

I don't know if it's just me, but I don't really enjoy Nintendo's new acclaimed game. I guess I'm trying to compare the game to previous Mario titles (like galaxy).. I don't know, I don't get the same experience than before. And the fact that there is no triple jump.. Weird.. I got to world three with my friend, so I hope I will see something good.

Considering to change it to new support Mario Bros Wii u
What do you think?

What is New Support Mario Bros. Wii U? Is it a game which you are customer support? Also 3D World is more comparable to 3D Land not galaxy.

I, too, was a little disappointed by SM3DW. I was hoping for a game in the spirit of SM64, SMS, SMG, or SMG2, but this one is more similar to NSMB and NSMBU.

Not to say it's a bad game... just not what I was personally hoping for.

If you didn't like NSM3DW, then you probably won't like NSMBU.

I was a bit disillusioned with the mechanics at first, but consider it a cleansing of the palette of maneuvers. The limitations (lack of triple jump, mid-air spin, etc) offer challenges appropriate with the level designs.

I have both and IMO 3d World is far superior to NSMB U, but if you really like classic 2d mario gameplay then it may be worth it.
Before playing 3d world I was disappointed that it wasn't more 'original' like mario galaxy, but after playing I love how polished they have made the experience, and it's a lot of fun multi-player.

The Wiiu certainly isn't doing too well, but for me at least Mario 3d World shows why Nintendo is still a relevant force in gaming.

Edit: If anyone in Aus is looking for the game at a decent price, it's just over $53 shipped on the video ezy website. They are generally cheaper than ozgameshop etc. I ordered it from there just before launch, did take about 2 weeks to arrive (shipped from Hong Kong) but best price I could find.

Umm... I'm more concerned as to why the hell you think Mario 3D World would be like Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy... that was dumb on your part.

There's no need for the triple jump either. It doesn't make sense. The whole point of the five characters is they all their own abilities. Having a triple jump would make having 5 characters seem pointless as some heights can only be accessed with a character that jumps high, unless you have a cat suit.

I must admit that I agree with you ... I really like Mario 3D World but it's certainly not as epic or satisfying as M64, Sunshine or Galaxy. It feels a bit more arcadish and the secrets are quite easy to find. I think that since I played Mario 3D Land a lot, the element of suprise wasn't as present when I first played 3D World. I also miss the Open map like in M64 (the castle) and in sunshine (Delphino Plaza) ... The levels are really well designed but in M64 for exemple, the levels where big and you enjoyed doing them multiple time to get all the stars and doing different missions but in Mario 3D World I don't really want to do the same level twice :S ... I'm a huge Nintendo Fan and I'm not saying the game is bad, far from there, I just don't like it as much as the epic Mario we used to have.

Allthough on the easy side( getting 3000 lives in level 1-2...), I really enjoyed SM3dW.
I got the same feeling I got with my all time favourite Mario game ( SMB3 / NES ).
Also there was some SMB2 spirit in it.

It's refresing NOT having to gather stars/shinesprites in the same levels over and over again.( 4 games in a row people )

I love the fact you can blow into your gamepad to find hidden things.
Or touch the screen to find things.
Also loved the fact of the luigi 8-bit cameo hidden everywere in the game.

Playing this alone is a whole other experience than playing with 2 players or more.
A lot more tactics are involved in order to finish the levels.
I think this is were the game really shines and you can clearly taste Nintendo's philosophy in getting people together.
I also love the fact that this game is far less frustrating ( no more looking in every nook and cranny to get the last stars and secrets.
Just pure platforming bliss.

I did miss the mario quirkyness and the lack of Yoshi.
Also the overworld map is a bit 'flat' and could be more interesting.
I went back to Galaxy and realized how bad the graphics are on that game compared to SM3dW.
SM3dW is also much, much faster and plays buttery smooth.

Also I got it for cheap ,30 euros.

Actually there is a mid air spin, And the triple jump is the same as running full speed and jump in SW3DW.

I agree with you OP. It feels lazy in comparison to Mario 64 (which imo is still the best mario game ever made) and especially Mario galaxy 1/2. I love the fact they have tried to make it family friendly by including 4 players but by doing that, the game feels too easy and levels feel almost boring. I miss really getting into the "world" of a 3D mario game, feeling like i really belong in that game. Mario 64 spoiled me because that game was fantastic for feeling like you were in the mario world. Galaxy attacked it a different way and just added alot of colour and stuff going on all over the place. This game it feels like someone just got a blank canvas a drew a few platforms on it and published it. Its still a game that encourages you to play with RL friends tho so it will never be a bad game, just not a great one.

i don't like how SHORT it is it's fucking ridiculous. it might as well be a mobile game. and the price of it is astoundingly outrageous too!!

Short? If it's really that short of a game then it sounds like I'll be disappointed too. I wasn't too impressed with the trailers I saw of the game anyway.

SylverReZ @ SylverReZ: Also nice. Never really watched Fallout on Prime, but sounds like a good show. +1
