Just wanted to say that what you guys are doing is so amazing and I can't wait to see/play the finished result. Have a PSP with a CFW on it already just itching to get that patch when you guys are finished. If I knew anything about Kanji I would definitely help out, but sadly the only languages I know are English and C++.
Keep up the good work everybody.

The only thing that sucks about this project is that it's a constant reminder that we're probably never going to see the sequel on PSVita for years to come. I have no faith in a company bringing it to North America.

Two weeks though until SAO OVA. Figures crossed for second season announcement!

The reason Infinity Moment isn't being localised is because PSP is dead outside Japan. Well... I suppose PS Vita is pretty dead everywhere, so unless it makes a comeback we probably shouldn't expect many localisations or games on PS Vita anyway.

Well, the LNs are going to be translated by Yen Press, so future games may be released outside of Japan.

I might be wrong, but isn't she a producer?
Anyway, we'd rather have volunteers than search for people.

Tell your friend about the project, if she wants to volunteer, great. But, if not, it's not as though we have a lot to convince someone with. None of us are getting paid, so the only real reason to volunteer is if you're an SAO fanatic. And we're getting on pretty well as it is, we have one full time translator and two part time. Much more than that and I feel we would start to lose consistency in the translation style.

Well, as I said, we have a reasonable number of volunteers who came to us, and while we wouldn't probably turn down someone else who seemed competent as a translator, we're not in the situation where we need to seek someone out. As a result of letting everyone come to us, everyone working on the project is committed to seeing it through for as long as it takes. Someone we have to convince may well leave after a few weeks or months.

Courage ;)

Hi, i hope you don't mind me asking but what's your progress so far on the translation?
That's rather hard to quantify in precise terms. The translation has five broad categories to it. The menu, quests, story and NPC text, videos, and images. Without taking a huge amount of time here are some rough estimates:
Menu: 80% done. Nearly everything but field and combat text that aren't directly related to being able to play the game is done.
Quests: Not even started yet.
Story/NPC Stuff: >5% done. We have some of it done, but there's a whole lot left.
Videos: Perhaps 80% done. Mostly translated, still needs editing and subtitling.
Images: Not started yet.

There's a lot done, but to put a rough number to it, I'd call it maybe 10% of the way through. I'm currently most focused on the storyline, Smash is doing the remaining menu stuff as he has time, and Tsuna has been translating the videos for us. The quests won't be individually too difficult, they all use fairly straightforward kanji and pretty much the same format on each one, from what I've looked at, but there are more of them than I had assumed, so will take time to finish. And the images are going to be a pain in the ass. Unlike everything else, I can't just stick an unfamiliar kanji into a dictionary, and even after I translate them we need someone good with image editing to put the translation in.

TL;DR: It'll be a while.
