I'm trying to put kingdom hearts 2 final mix on a usb thumb drive. But I get an error saying the file is too big. Even though the usb thumb drive is 32GB. Is there anyway to shrink it?

If you rip the ISO by yourself, there should be no need for trimming.

If you downloaded it from the web and confident it would fit onto a flash drive, run checksum or check actual file size.

Yeah the PS2 is pretty picky about what thumb drives will work with it.

I keep a couple of ancient 128MB and 256MB thumb drives around just because they are the only ones I have that work with it. I use an internal hard drive and the thumb drives to store other software.

Heck even my PS2 with an internal hard drive via the network adapter is kinda picky about what drives will work.

Wish there was better news for you :(

what?? playing ps2 iso via usb is so easy... for game with 4gb+ size... just split them using usb util... and all the usb i tried.. even the Chinese knock offs works... probably on your end or hardware failure...

Nevermind guys. It's not working anyway. HD loader isn't detecting the games on the usb drive. Playing PS2 backups is so ridiculously hard. I tried this once almost a year ago, with no luck then either. Ended up wasting $80. I made a topic about it here.

Time to give up.
Swap Magic is like $20, and Verbatims are cheap and plentiful.

Yes you're losing the convenience of having everything on one drive or USB but using a swap disc is easy and cheap. For PS2 slims its just a matter of taping down some pressure-sensitive triggers.
