Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka and Happy Holidays! It's December and with December come Holiday deals which are pretty damn dandy on PSN this year! The sale starts today and will continue throughout the rest of December and January - you can find a pretty extensive list of all the discounts in the source link below.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that this sale applies to European and Australian PSN users only, it does not cover the U.S.

Wow...that's one huge ass list of games.

I should've bought a PS3 instead of a xbox360

But am I the only one thinking sony's timing is a bit strange? I've seen quite some advertisements on cheap deals on PS3's, and now this list. It's almost as if they don't want you to buy one of those PS4 thingies.

Not really. Sony promised that PS3 will continue to receive games all the way till 2015. PS2 received quite a long support even after PS3 was introduced.

I wouldn't be surprised if the XBox 360 and the PS3 lived a happy and prolific life enjoying multiplatform titles with the Wii U just like the PS2 did with the Wii for years to come - they're far from dead platforms.

Wii has shown its age and a successor is much needed. On the other hand X360 and PS3 can still enjoy a couple more years, Sony and Microsoft released PS4/X1 mostly because Wii U was released.

Naw, let's not be too extreme here - the PS3 and the XBox 360 are quite aged, they're far behind the PC standard. In this day and age, 512MB Shared RAM/256MB RAM + 256MB VRAM is just not enough - the average mobile has more memory. Console games were pretty watered down as of late, it was high time for a next generation. That being said, they're still eh-o-kay for less demanding games.

EU usually gets announcements for their region early, so we should get a sale announcement soon.

The Holiday Sale was already pretty great so far. Got Ni no Kuni (bleh), Tomb Raider (which is actually very good), and God of War Ascension (which I haven't played yet because of that 31GB install size) for $10 each.
