While likely what you are saying is true, I keep having to repeat that there is no proof that they have used a devkit in that video. Just a gamepad. People like to forget the fact that a devkit gamepad can and will sync with a retail console.. Also, the first images, as mentioned previously, were shown on a black gamepad, apparently. TBH, I did not see those, so I can't comment on that either way.

However I tend to side with the skeptical side as well as it's more likely than not that it was run on a devkit but saying that and saying that it was, for sure, run on a devkit are 2 totally different things.

Possible (Not sure myself if it is possible tbh), but very unlikely... I mean, Why would you risk being caught trying to conceal the fact that your using a Dev unit Wii U game pad when your providing video proof ? The hole point of providing proof is to eliminate any doubt... All they have done is created even more doubt.

i know what your saying redneck , but if they were using a devkit gamepad synced to a regular wiiu , why try hide the fact that your using a devkit gamepad ? why make a video demonstrating your acheivements with a devkit pad , and not a regular pad . And if they dont have one to use then they cannot have proven their hack in the first place.

Yup, More than likely. Also they said that its pretty pointless in releasing their exploit because they believe that it would lead to piracy much sooner & not many people would be interested in creating Homebrew (Or something like that... lol). They don't want to be responsible for the console being opened to piracy, But want credit for being the first to open it. Notice they only pop out to chime in when someone claims to have hacked it, Give their 2 cents & say they did it first. With f0f history, Im more inclined to take their word over some random, Even if their playing hard to get (If you know what I mean )

All day and the latest is at 10:33 AM. Nobody found anyone to interrogate? Nobody has information with the "anonymous source" disclaimer attached? Going quiet can mean the 4 horsemen are either "Busy getting a release ready" or "Found out it was fake so time for me to disappear." Either way I'd like to have an idea already.

Give us MORE false hope...say something, anything, lie to us if you must but don't simply go off quietly without revealing who you really are. Trying to come up with something more convincing can be amusing but would surely be picked apart by keen eyes (like the gamepad nfc symbol, GREAT catch for whoever really saw that).

I keep assuming people can read and would be able to understand a disclaimer in the release info about the probability of bricking. Then I see posts like this and remember that people don't read and would screw it up then blame it on these people. If you brick your system because you fail to understand simple instructions that says something.

Releasing it might not be the best idea right now but they could at least release proper proof. Like, send the software to another hacker/group or show us something more than a shitty video or photoshopped images. Instead it's all the usual ego-driven garbage.

I know I'm new on this forum, i have been following the wii homebrew/hacking scene since they released the twilight hack way back in the day.

About the picture that they posted with the black wii u gamepad showing the Wii U brew Channel, who's to say that they didnt photoshop the screen from the dev unit onto a picture of the black one. I want this to be real as every other scene-er out there, but so far it seems like a prank. I hope im wrong, i really do

Note that the Mii in those pictures are blacked out. Also, there's very little reflection of the screen off the plastic. What they could've done as well is just darkened the devkit gamepad border in photoshop so that it looks like a retail gamepad.

Yeah it could all be dev kit and ela is irrelevant. Real...but on dev kit. I keep thinking they are making hbc on dev kit with sdk. It does not prove exploit and that it works on retail. This is about all it is right now.

It is definatly fake, because the application was launched on Wii U Development Kit (can you see a square on the gamepad? There are 2 squares on normal Wii U and 1 on development kit).

My point is, while likely fake, there is absolutely no way to say for sure either way just from that video and the couple of pictures that we have seen. Need more information.

The person who posted the ela image stated there are other tests. It could be "real, unaltered" image BUT is on a dev kit gamepad. Could be retail or dev kit console. The image is a dead end as even if it is real it proves nothing as far as ubrew running on a retail unit. I'd feel better seeing unit, connections to tv, timing involved, and also exploit being launched. There are details to be shown without giving up your "mii" or other identifying information.

The tough part is people want to believe. A ruse plays on this fact of human nature. 90% of the time this type of presentation is a farce. Assuming it is fake is the safe bet. I think like rednekcowboy I am in the middle. Interesting that it gets people talking right before 30c3.

Marcan said a persistent exploit was needed. I have not seen Sven/Marcan say a banner is not a plausible exploit. I would imagine wanting to discredit this four horsemen video could be as easy as saying that is not an exploit

They posted...a picture of gamepad that can easily be faked as Sven himself said (irony there). They may demonstrate at 30c3.
