I'm a bit paranoid about regions because mario kart doesn't let you download and play with 3ds from other regions and shit so I was wondering, Pokemon trading battling and stuff works with Pokemon from other region console right?

Like I have a a American Pokemon and my friend has a Japanese Pokemon, you can trade freely and stuff right?

Yes so this is how it is 3ds's are region locked and games from the US work on the US 3ds. Now in pokemon you can battle and trade from people all over the world in fact youll notice a lot of japanese people playing and trading, no disrespect ment. So go crazy :)

Online you can but locally i don't think so.
I'm not 100% sure thou.
I tried to transfer from EU Diamond to USA BW2 locally and it said that can't be transfered so if MK7 blocked it too i'm sure that Pokemon does too.

Yes, DS games aren't region locked but there's still some kind of code i guess in the game that blocks the transfer from EU to USA and vice versa.
And yeah he talks about XY, i'm saying that older pokemon games have that ''code'' and if MK7 has that ''code'' implemented then Pokemon XY is gonna have it too.

The old pokemon games have a horrible transfer option only bw2 had something okay now pokemon x and y have it made perfect. there must be a way since poke bank will be coming soon and people will want to transfer all their old pokemon to the new one.

Well yeah, the way would be to send the pokemon to GTS or Pokebank or to connect the 3DSs online and send them in game.
I still think that locally(without wifi connection) you can't transfer pokemons if the 2 3DSs are 2 different regions.

It says that because DSi games have region protection in them - you can add region blocks to games made with the DSi SDK.

Could be that i used a DSi rom. Thanks for explaining it to me :)

And well, that means that 3DS has the same protection cause games are region locked.
