Hacking Spot Pass with Gateway?

So as far as I think so far, spot pass does NOT work with any games played on Gateway. Is this correct?

I know online stuff won't work (like DLC on Fire Emblem), but is this also the case for spot pass stuff? I think the spot pass stuff is the same as the bonus maps you would get on Samurai Warriors Chronicles? I hope I have the correct understanding of spot pass.

It does work w/ GW.
But if spotpass is on then you're in danger of updating (ruining) your system.
It just downloads but it'll nag you constantly until you reformat to get rid of the nag. If you reformat you lose eshop until you update.
Just don't do it.

All those features work normally on Gateway mode, it's just that you can't BOOT some applications of the 3DS while using the hack due to some interference between the 3DS and the data stored on the SD card that only occurs on GW mode.

IIRC entering GW mode removes the nag until reboot.
