No. I frequently reset my DS and booted up another title. I'm a teacher in South Korea and all my kids have packed m-SD's on their DS carts and use the functionality to the fullest. It's a very important feature.

Imo it is more novelty on a standard Gameboy or Gameboy Color system. But yeah it is available on DS too so I can understand the frustration but for me, as time goes by... I get so used to these advanced features that I don't mind going back to ground zero with 1 game at a time.

The worst part of this device is the price though but it isn't too bad. It's just that I was even buying GB/C carts for less than 80 bucks each... but then again... those visoly carts cost about 120 and used parallel port. We are all spoiled by low cost, multi game menu, etc. I can't complain, not at all. Not for free games and hardware on the cheap. Just be glad for what we get and that they are kind enough to do a lot of brute force and such, keeping this device alive rather than just squandering the cash.

Can u run old flash carts such as Acekard 2i on emunand? If so that would be leet. But I have doubts. I can't get those things to work even with a datel action reply like people said could work. Waste of 10 bucks. Not that I can complain, I just got it to tinker with. Tinkering was short and abrupt though lol.

Can't downgrade your fw unless you have a backup. So no, you can't.

Gateway is a novelty. It's feature list is not, especially not such a feature. Im not saying it should be available already, Im just saying its an expected feature of cards these days.

If the GW were a regular DS flashcart then I will agree. Except you are comparing something that has had years of development with a something that just came out recently. I know what you are trying to get at but the problem really isn't with GW but with people's overly high expectations. It's like expecting electric cars to go just as far, just as far, fuel up just as quickly while costing just as much (or outperforming in every aspect since it will cost more) as a conventional car.

As I stated. There is no reason to be mad at them, they should take the time they need. Nobody is criticizing them for that. But you are suggesting that its not that important a feature to have on a card like this. But it is an important feature.

Useful feature? Sure. Would I enjoy it if it were released? Sure. But important? No. Gateway's purpose is to play ROMs. And it does.

Yeah. But I don't want to have to buy several cards, or boot up my PC to change over.

It is a very important feature, but I don't mind waiting for it. People are just arguing for the sake of it if they say its not an important feature. That functionality justified DS era cards being 'more than piracy'. Not only could lots of homebrew be on there, but it was a legitimate excuse to want to have your whole collection with you instead of hauling cartridges around.

Multi-ROM is a key feature for these kinds of cards, and anyone who says otherwise is being silly, no two ways about it.

Given that emunand allows pseudo-updating to 6.x firmware, no.

ya a minute after I posted that I remembered the old saying, make sure not to ask noob questions before pressing post reply lol I dunno what I was thinking.

But I wonder if they'll make it so you can spoof older fw... just that the problem is, nobody's going to have fw old enough to run those any more so that isn't going to work unless someone releases the old ones with a way to configure them per console.

I get my gateway tomorrow.. I can wait for the rest of the fw update to come out, just got one to tinker with.

You can spoof the FW already, but it doesn't change the blockage of the card. It's basically system saying "Yeah, I'm X.X" but not actually being that firmware.

That's exactly what I've been trying to say, they're never going to support it and I ain't made outta money. Besides, I have issues trusting used consoles on eBay. I have no way to even know if the 3DS XL I get is from 2012 or not. Bullshit.

sell your old 3ds, buy a NEW 3DS XL from a seller on ebay, just message the seller first to verify that it's the 2012 version.. selling your old and buying a new one can't be that much more out of pocket..

now is the time to do it when 2012 consoles are still in circulation. All the Red and Blue 3DS XL consoles I still see in stores are still 2012 in USA for now..

the longer you wait the less chance you will have of finding a 2012 console. You can wait an hope they find a new hack, but the safe bet really is to just sell your old one and buy a new one.

There really isn't an excuse for someone to go get a 2012 version 4.5 console right now.. unless you're lazy or don't care that much about it.

1. Go to gamestop
2. Ask clerk to see selection of 3ds,
3. Give some excuse like you want to check the colors they have, or a particular 3DS P/N
4. Look for a 2012 3DS

I did it this way, and had no problems finding a 3ds manufactured in 2012.

I don't think the 3DS's sellers will prevent you to buy one even if they understand it's for (easyer) piracy.
When I asked for a 3DS XL with ©2012 tooday at a shop, after he give it to me, he said "You search a ©2012 for easyer piracy ?", and I just said yes ^^
