More or less, this is my understanding of how nand emulation works. Someone please feel free to correct/humiliate me if I'm wrong.

It...
1. Makes an exact copy of your 3DS nand (firmware 4.5) to the SD card.
2. Applies patches to the SD copy of your nand to make it 6.3 compatible.
3. Runs the patched v6.3 off your SD so you can play new backup games and access online features.
Nice of them to wait until after Pokemon launched to say people might be able to access pokemon online without updating...
Basically we thought this was an either or situation. Luckily, I'll be fine but I still think that was tactless. No reason the update couldn't have been made sooner. It's not like they released anything with it.

So does this mean you have to install the hack on 4.5 then update safely?
or can you now install it on a system up to 6.2?; and can update to 6.3 with spoofing?

If its still needs a 4.5 system to start out this isnt nearly as good as ppl think
what goods eshop if you can get the roms anyway?

You're on 4.5 then copy the NAND then the Gateway emulates the NAND so you can update on the emunand to 6.3.

Maybe its for the better.

Accessing online with pokemon or any game with a hacked system is going to be risky business. Hello console bans.

When they say patch, they mean the exploit right ? If that's the case, guess i'll leave my 3DS on 6.3 till the new exploit comes out. Otherwise i'll just update like usual

I'm slightly pissed at myself;

I bought a 3DS XL (had a normal 3DS originally) to play Pokemon on and stuff. I should have updated my old 3DS and used the XL for 4.5 :(

Yep. Still need to on 4.1-4.5 to make use of it.

edit: ninja'd, or foxed I guess :P.

Still think it's bullshit that 6.2 or below will never work, but yeah, to each their own I guess. Unless they're working on an eventual exploit to support said firmware, I'll spend $80 on something else. They sure as hell don't need my money :creep:

Whoops, I said the soft part loud and the load part soft. Did I just say "bullshit" I meant to say "pleasant surprise"

lol

well, gunna have to keep waiting i guess.

G3DS promised support up to 6.2(eventually), still waiting
im stuck on 5.0.1 or 5.0.0.1u or something like that

to be honest, pokemons the first game in 6 months that even caught my eye; and with
GTAV and, Pikmen 3 and a few other titles (and ps4 comming to me in what now, 3 weeks? 4 weeks?) im in no rush.

I just wish they would say "yes, working on it"

my gateway cards a paperweight right now.
cuz if they arent, ill sell it.

"ITS THE NOT KNOWING THAT KILLZ MEH!"

lol, thanks for the replies :D
good news for the rest of you tho :) i guess... nothing spectacular if you really sit back and look @ it.

Maybe they'll surprise us soon, who knows. If you have enough money, why not go out and buy a 3DS with 4.5? :P

Because I DON'T have enough money right now. I sure as hell don't trust a second-hand console either. Maybe they'll surprise us like you said, but I'm skeptical right now.

Exactly what I did. Of course I'm happy now because I can use Gateway ^.^

I guess I'm not getting a Gateway 3DS yet, it's so fishy, the video I mean, they would have done better if there were no cuts, I don't know what the video means, also there's something really weird, did anyone notice the "14/3" on the top right screen?... Did they go to the past!?... ¬_¬

My Pokémon games are on their way so I'm not in any kind of hurry, if this card ever gets good enough then it will be time to get it, right now there's no point!... ^_^
