Hi all,

I'm very interested in buying a PS Vita.
But I have a PSP, and the graphics are not really well.

So is buying a PS Vita a big advancement?
And how are the graphics of the PS Vita?

I hope you all understand my question, and will help me with my choice...

Greetings from a cold Holland,

Rik
PS. I cannot test a ps vita in the stores, because I have autism and a social phobia...

Here's God Eater 2 on the PSP:

And here's the Vita version of God Eater 2:

It's definitely better than the PSP. However, for what the PSP is, the graphics aren't bad... Unless you're comparing it to a console or something?

before you bye a system look at what games are on the system
do you want the games on the system

i think
the ps vita should be able to get close to 1st gen ps3 games graphics or end of ps2 gen graphics

there is YouTube
but is not as good a trying one out yourself

Okay here's how i see it. PSP is like a portable PS2 and PS Vita is like a portable PS3. Because i find PSP graphics to be PS2 quality graphics and PS Vita graphics to be PS3 quality graphics

The PSVita is a massive improvement over the DS, 3DS and PSP:

In the graphics department there's absolutely nothing to be frowned upon - the system can push great visuals.

It's definitely better than the PSP. However, for what the PSP is, the graphics aren't bad... Unless you're comparing it to a console or something?
God Eater 2 isn't a really good title to use for such a comparison since it's a PSP up-port to the PSVita, not a native PSVita game - it doesn't push the system to its limits. ;)

What a superb graphics!

One question though: 3G-option, useful or not?

Thank you all for your messages!

That depends on what you use the 3G for. I use it for browsing the Internet and watching Youtube on the go, but since (as you said) you don't go out much, you wouldn't have much use for it. Technically the included GPS module improves "near" functionality, but only marginally so. I'd say that for you, a WiFi version would be just fine, plus it's cheaper. ;)

Additionally make sure to buy a PSPlus subscription - you're from the Netherlands so you're more than likely under European PSN jurisdiction and their monthly games are fantastic - a lot of bang for the buck, it'll keep you entertained. ;)

As for the social phobia, you should totally try to build up courage and try to meet new people - suffering from autism doesn't mean you should confine yourself to your home, to the contrary, socialize! It's good that you joined a forum, it'll build up your confidence.

Enjoy your future system, I certainly have enjoyed mine so far! :yaypsp:

Hi Foxi,

Thank you for your clear answer.
I go for a PS Vita WiFi, so without 3G.

Well, it is very clear to me.
I go to buy a PS Vita :grog:

Many many thanks, to all of you!
Greetings, Rik

You need to look at games if there are no games you want no reason to buy it.... why spend $300+ for Vita + Memory Card + Game if that is the only game you want to play? As far as it seems no amazing games are in the works for the Vita and you should look up future games the only great games I can't wait for in the pipeline right now is Killzone and Tearaway. Other than that what games do you plan on buying? If the games come on another console that isn't a reason to buy it if you can just sit at home and play it.

Oh, yeah, except "Soul Sacrifice Delta", "Valhalla Knights 3", "Final Fantasy X & X-II HD","Ys - Memories of Celceta", "Borderlands 2", "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z" and more. Yep, nothing interesting coming up on the radar, nope. //List_Wars_Are_Silly

As for the must-haves on the system, there's plenty already, so he has a lot to choose from.

The OP asked about whether or not the system has good visuals and was already interested in getting one - we answered this question, plain and simple.

Final Fantasy, Borderlands 2, and Dragonball are all planned for multiplatform if he has a PS3 he shouldn't use those as a reason to buy a console since it doesn't justify the reason to buy something "new" if it will look better on something he already has.... He does only care about the Graphic Quality

On a portable system, and a very particular one he asked about in his opening post.

Yeah I know but no reason to buy a new portable system if you don't plan on building a good library of games or already own a good chunk of them on previous consoles. Why spend the extra 40-60$ when you could own them on something you already have for a cheaper price? I'm just letting him know I don't have to defend my answer to you anyway when you already know if he owns a PS3 there is no reason to buy those games on the console he owns rather than dumping a ton of money on a handheld that isn't being fully supported with new games... remakes/ports do not justify buying a new console even if it is portable.

Except when y'know, you want them in a portable format.

As for the "not being fully supported with new games" part of your comment. Okay? Each to their own, I suppose? I certainly have plenty of PSVita games and I certainly don't regret the purchase.

The PSP looks like a cheap dollar store toy when put beside a vita.
I look at the thing and wonder how the hell I ever managed to play something on my PSP. It just looks so teeny tiny.
