Hacking Need some help regarding R43DS

So recently my brother updated his 3DS to it's latest version, version 5.1.0-11E, and now his flashcart won't run properly. His flashcart is the R43DS, I realise there is a metric shit-tonne of these on the market, and I need some insight on whether or not he'll be able to continue pirating his games. I can upload pictures of the flashcart if necessary. So is there some sort of R4 Firmware that will allow him to play his R4 on this version of the 3DS or is he doomed to retail purchases forever?

Depends on what it looks like and the site printed on it. Also you'll need another DS that still runs it in order to update the firmware.

Oh yeah my bad it's definitely R4ids.cn, I only have the picture to get the link from right now and as you can see it's a bit blurry xD

heres the update files you need

ftp://r4idsdown:[email protected]/r4igold_3DS62_Patch.rar

extract the "R4iGold_3DS62_Patch_NDSi_3DS.nds" and copy to the MicroSD
place the cart with the MicroSD inside into a DS Phat or DS Lite
boot the cart
load up the file you just copied
follow the instructions carefully, wait until it says finished
once it "tells you" it has finished (the progress bar will fill up multiple times before saying "done")
then you can turn off the console
then take the update file off the microSD
then the card should be able to boot in the 3DS
