Here is my take on the inverse behaving disc slot light mod. I didn't like the idea of soldering a wire to the metal housing in case I want to take the Wii apart. I also don't like the idea of just sticking a wire in there to just hang out all unsecured. I figured there had to be a better way.

All I did different was get a price of wire about 8 inches long. Strip about 6 off one side and a tiny bit off the other for soldering. I soldered the one side on and them wrapped the 6 inches of exposed wire around the piece of plastic that a screw goes through. Simple.

I'm rather lost at the point of this. Could someone please explain it better than what the OP has done?

My best guess is that since he says "inverse behaving", he means that the drive slot light is always lit unless activity is occurring (or an error, etc), where the light would then turn off. That being the inverse of the light being constantly off unless activity or an error occurs, at which point it turns on.

My post is showing the reversed light behaviour mod. Sorry for not being real specific. The only difference it seems between the 2 mods is the location of the ground wire for the plug that goes into the Wii. For the inverse behavior you dealer the black cable from "B2" and solder it to "R2" then ground off "B2". For the light always on mod it seems that all you have to do is group d off "B2".

I am stripping off that much wire so I can wrap it around that piece of plastic that touches the metal housing inside the Wii. Basically just containing the mod to the faceplate. No extra wire hanging off.

I don't understand the benefit besides doing a mod because it is possible. Either way it seems like that there much be a way better method of accomplishing it. Too bad I don;t have my tools to do so myself and figure it out.

The point is because in my opinion it looks cool to have the light on when the Wii is. To be honest I can't really see how the mod could be better or easier. Just take the faceplate off, move one wire over, and add another short one. It took about 10 minutes start to finish. The light even still pulses when it is supposed to so it can still act as a notification light.
