GTX 560 Ti SLI can easily beat a GTX 580 in performance.

It only goes up to 2.40GHz though... whereas my old one went to 2.9? Can I still ya know, play Full-speed on most PS2 games vita PCSX2, and Bioshock infinite, and whatnot, as I could with my old laptop?

Easily. Also, GHz doesn't always mean something is slower or faster. Rydian can explain it to you.

Thanks so much for everything:)

I'm looking at the second-highest-priced model here (The last one, with the discount, ending in "16"), I think that may be a good buy :)

the 879-dollar one. I don't see what makes it more expensive than the others, but yeah D: THat's the only thing.

your older laptop does have somewhat decent spec even by today standard (a bit on low side though) if you're looking for a cheap gaming laptop, if you are looking at a pricy gaming laptop (1200$+) you can get much better, however, if you're looking for a gaming desktop, you can get quite a jump in performances given the right build.

It has a hybrid drive, which I find hit or miss when it comes to putting things on the faster SSD part of the drive.

So (stupid question, sorry haha!) What 'is' a hybrid drive? What differs it from it's previous model? Would it be wise to get this 'hybrid drive'd' model?

It's basically an HDD with a small SSD inside of it. Imho, you'd be better off buying a 256GB SSD and replacing the stock HDD.

Not sure what that means, but if I have a choice between no ssd, and any ssd, I'm sure ssd + Hdd would be the better buy :P

THanks so much for all the help guys!! :)

As in, it has the speed of an HDD for about 500GBs, and the speed of the SSD for your most frequently used 24GBs of data. When I tried it, it was hit or miss when detecting which part to put on the SSD.

    I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

    I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

    Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

    @Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
