So I was looking snooping around until I see a few people talking about the Revo K101, and the issues with it. I, myself do not own this system, but when I took a look on their official site, and the review made by one of the testers. It looked pretty decent, and afterall it's only $60, $10 less for what I can get a EZ-Flash IV for.

In otherwords, how does the Revo K101 stack up? Does it lag when playing any games, such as Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon LeafGreen, and Zelda games?

I've also read that many users are having an issue with the saves, but many people suggested to update their firmware, and they haven't replied back on their luck. So anyways does that issue still exist now? Are there any fixes for this?

I'm quite interested in the Revo myself, since it includes a backlit screen, and a TV out option. And the fact that I can play my game cartridge on it.

If someone can answer my questions as soon as possible that would be great.

Thanks.

There is no noticable lag on any games I've played. Supposedly there is lag on the nes classics legend of zelda but I haven't tried it. Pokemon emerald and leaf green work like a charm. I'm running a hack of fire red that makes 386 pokemon catchable and it runs with only one noticable error and that's a graphical glitch over the player back sprite. So yeah, good in that respect.

The save issue is supposedly fixed, you have to manually hit a button combo in order for any save to work though. It's weak, but it works. I did have an issue where my system ran out of battery and a save didn't work anymore though. So there's that. I emailed the guys who make the k101 and I'm hoping they get back to me on this.

Overall I'd rate the system a 6.5/10 and I think that's being a little generous because of my save getting deleted. I'm hoping it was a fluke.

The save issue and the kludge to circumvent it is a real killer for me. Something so fundamental as game saving should not be broken. Certainly not for this long anyway... I'm really disappointed to see that it's STILL not fixed. :(

According to a few people they said it's been fixed. Well for Roms >16 mb. There is a workaround to save roms under 16 mb. And that should make up for it. It's good to see that the developers are working hard to fix it.

I had one save issue and it was easily solved. After you save in game make sure to use *+Start then use *+L and exit back to the main menu. Since I've used this method I have no lost any save data. As for lag I have absolutely no lag whatsoever. The system run everything well including harder to run games like KH. Definitely worth the $60. The save issues is a user problem not a system.

Yeah I've read about this before. This was my only issue on why I was weary on getting a Revo. Anyways I appreciate the help, and post more questions on here when I have more. I know what I'm getting now :).

another thing, if you played a game once and dumped the sav even if you load the game to the title screen and dont actually play the game you need to dump it again or it may corrupt. for instance, you start loading pokemon ruby your at the 5th gym and when your about to hit continue something comes up and you cant play, dont just turn your system off, dump the sav again or it will probably corrupt. so if you load a save file even if you dont play any dump it again before you turn off the system. also i think i should note i dont enjoy playing mario on this system. to run fast you must hold b but sometimes you need to hit a to jump. the buttons are far enough apart to where its almost annoying to try to run in the game. unlike the gba systems, ds, 3ds where all the buttons are close and easy to press a and b at the same time it is not easy on this and i have big hands and figures.

Hmm, good thing I didn't place an order. I was going to today, anyways after reading your post, I'm going to try getting an EZ Flash IV. As that would be the best option, in my opinion. And I can use this as a back-up, if that fails.

I settled with this when I couldn't find ez flash iv. Beware though, tons of fake sites. I doubt you'll find one I looked for weeks.
