So, 2 years ago i bought a fake R4i gold for my 3DS from thailand.
It was working fine on 4.0 i believe, but when i updated to 4.5.0-10E, it didn't.
Now they didn't release a update for a few months, but recently they made an update called "R4A+"
It say''s it's supposed to work on 3DS 5.0 and DSi 1.45.
So i updated the card with the latest update from their site, but with no avail.
So my quistion is, is this supposed to be (like when a flascard manifructer says you need THAT firmware to make it work), or is it supposed to work on my console?
If it's supposed to work on my card, i'll buy a new one.
Oh, and here the link: r4i.ndsi.in
EDIT: if it turns out that it's not going to work on my FW, can i then try to install another r4i software (from a legit site)? Anyway, thanks in advance!

In addition, I would like to say that putting the update on the card does not update the card. You have to actually run it which requires you to not have updated yet.
This is a mistake many people make.
If you don't have a DS lite to update it you'd have to borrow someone elses, assuming there was an update for your card. That's why it's important to always update the card first.

I know what you mean, but it isn't a .nds, you need to do it manually because there are folders like SYSTEM and such.
I Will try it one more time tommorow, otherwise i'll be buying the SCDS2.
EDIT: i do have a DSi, ds lite and ds phat so for the updating thats no problem.

That's not the right update. That's the loader update, it will not update the firmware on your cart.
A firmware update is always a .nds, or a file the cart detects when ran (such as the DSTWO's dstwoupdate.dat)

Lord knows the engrish is hard to interpret at times, different teams copy-paste the same sentences when the situation is different. :P

Exactly.
It's to much Engrish to make something out of it :-/.
I'm just gonna buy a new flashcard, this one was "meh" anyway.
