I want to update the CheckRegion library to include vWii serial codes, but I don't know them. If you could just run the app below from the HBC (it doesn't make any changes to your NAND), then tell me what the code is (it should be 2-3 letters long), that would give me everything I need. I need codes from each region.

Just run this: CheckRegionvWii.zip

If you want, feel free to remove the last few digits of your serial number. All I really need are the letters.

So far I've gotten plenty of info from USA Wii U's, but I still need info from Asia, Europe, and Australia.

Thanks, I need to look into this. I could swear I was told that I could get the necessary permissions if I applied patches to the IOS.

Truth is, I shouldn't have just depended on something that I thought I read, but looked into it myself. Maybe I have to identify as the SM or something. :shy:

Maybe it helps: I've tested it on my regular Wii to and there the program is working fine:

AHBPROT Disabled
Shop code: 78
You have a European Wii
Serial number: LEH176..... (pointed out the rest of the serial)

Wii 4.3E PAL (german)

Sry, i didn't recognize that you had sent me a message. Here are the results:

AHPROT Disabled
Shop code: 78
Error getting region code!
ret = ffff9ffe
Error getting serial number!
ret = ffff9ffe

I (or rather tueidj) found the problem. I've got the whole conversation here, but this is the important part:
[20:48:17] <@tueidj> that's what the problem is, setting.txt from the wii uses \r\n at the end of lines and setting.txt from vwii only uses \n

Interestingly, that means that in homebrew, the vWii always defaults to 480i/480p, depending on the cables you are using.

Hey joostin wuts up, been ignoring the Wii U forums for a while didn't realize there was other activity besides "vWii has a problem" stuff going on. If it helps I'll send u my info later or do u already have enough USA console info?
