I have looked around for some answers here on this forum and found people with different problems on Simply and didn't see the same one I have so here it is:
My M3 DS Simply simply doesn't work at all. When I put it in my DS is simply takes goes straight to the DS menu when previously it automatically started and did not show the menu at all. I am thinking the hardware is where the problem lies, with the cartridge having some internal problems, however I have not been able to open it since I don't have a screw driver that small, any and all tips and suggestions would be welcome!

The contacts on the cart need to be cleaned. I periodically have this issue with my R4 in my Lite. Go ahead and blow on the contacts and in the cart slot (a dry breath) as hard as you can without slobbering. Most of the time, this will act as a reasonable temporary solution. For a more permanent solution, use a q-tip and a very, very light amount of rubbing alcohol and gently clean off the contacts of the cart.

Thanks man that worked like a charm! however 2 of the connectors are a darker shade than the rest and it didn't come off with the cleaning, does it sound like it could be bad in the future?

I don't believe it's anything to worry about if the cart is still working fine. As far as I know, DS carts aren't known for the contacts really degrading, flash carts or official, so in all likelihood, it's nothing to really worry about.

At absolute worst, you could always investigate the possibility of picking up a dirt cheap original R4 reproduction for a couple dollars. Since you're using a Simply, you must have either a Phat or a Lite, so an original R4 1:1 with the Wood kernel would work perfectly.
