Hey all,
i've been trying to get USB Launcher to recognize Super Smash Bros Melee for the past 2 days and finally got it to work, but now when trying to launch the game it goes straight into a black screen, hangs for like 20 seconds then goes back to the homebrew channel.

I'm using USB Launcher GX v3.0. I used dx2 cIOS installer, I think I installed IOS56-64-v5661/IOS57-64-v5918 in slots 249/250. I've tried using WiiFlow with DM installed, still it goes to a black screen when I try to install a game. Using Cfg usb loader it goes into a DSI exception. I can post the debug from Configurable USB loader if anyone wants it.

Thank you in advance for any help!

can you post a syscheck?

also, is SSBM the only GC game your having trouble with?

Here's the syscheck :
sysCheck v1.6.2 by Erik Spyder

Region: PAL
The system menu v514 is running under IOS58 (rev 6176)
Hollywood v0x11
Console ID: 41689724
Boot2 v4
Found 79 titles
Found 31 IOS on this console
Found 14 IOS Stubs on this console
Trying to get it to recognize Animal Crossing but so far no dice.
EDIT: It recognized the iso but still hanged at a black screen when I tried to play it.

can your make the syscheck show the names/numbers of the IOS's you have? (put in a spoiler if its too big).

For GC games they really depend on DIOS MIOS or Devolution. And your usb loader needs to be the correct version. and of course your usb/sd card must formatted to FAT32 WITH 32k cluster size.

for cfg you need to use the modified boot.dol which is version 70 revision 51 (is it 50 maybe?)

for usb loader GX the lastest version is compatible with Dios Mios

One more small thing: What version of Dios Mios are u running?

I tried running Syscheck again after deleting the file but that's all it gives me, it crashes at "Detecting IOS..." before going back to the homebrew channel.
I installed USB Loader 3.0, DM 2.8, I remember installing IOS56-64-v5661/IOS57-64-v5918 in slots 249/250 WAD's when I first started this. How do I check the cluster size of my SD Card ?

Thanks!

are you loading games from your sd card? if you aren't, the FAT32 thing is for your usb drive.
I think one to check cluster size is to create a text document in notepad with a couple letters like kagkdshf or something. put that file on what ever you want to check. now open the file's properties. there's a thing that mentions the size ON DISK. it if says 32kilobytes it ok. if not format it!

btw, have you taken a look a the dios mios FAQ?
https://code.google.com/p/diosmios/wiki/FAQ

did you follow some guide for playing GC games?

it should be simply:
1. correctly formatted storage device
2. DM or DML installed
3. good loader

more q's:
did you use dmtoolbox to put games on your storage device?

you have a PAL wii i assume. make sure your GC games aren't NTSC

also please install the DM 2.10 version or whatever is the latest.

Are you really confused? IF you are, perhaps you should go get modmii, to makesure all your cIOS's are updated.

Here's a guide for playing games with dios mios:http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-p...s-from-sd-or-usb-using-dios-mios-lite.318585/
