hi everyone :)
I can finally build my first gaming pc and I'd like your help because I'm not sure what I'm doing...
I followed this guide looking at the superb tier. I don't need an hdd or an ssd for now so I was focusing on the other things. I already have two pack of this ram.
I think this graphics card and this cpu are what I want but I'm not sure about the motherboard, I found this but I'm don't what I should look for choosing what's best. I don't know how much power it need but I found this and it's a little overkill but it seems a nice investment and eventually I can reuse it if I want to upgrade other stuff. I choose this case but that might change.
So if you have any kind of feedback or suggestion it would be really appreciated.

Ram: Corsair 8gb x2 (already owned)
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce gtx 660 222€
Cpu: Intel i5-4430 186€
Motherboard: Asus Z87-c (pretty much at random) 124€
Power: Antec ea-750 green 120€
Case: Antec Three-hundred 62€
Total: 715€

Haswell doesn't overclock that well, though, and is way more hotter than Ivy Bridge. Plus, it's a new chipset and the first batch of motherboards are buggy.

I would get Ivy Bridge. Cheaper, better OC, no difference in gaming performance and stable.

You could say the same of Sandy Bridge as well. Also, Haswell lets him upgrade to Broadwell, unlike Ivy, which is a dead socket.

Honestly, even though Sandy and Ivy overclocks better than Haswell, you have to consider the performance advantage.

From Sandy vs Ivy, there exist a performance gap about 400 MHz. i7-2600K @ 4.8 GHz = i7-3770K @ 4.4 GHz.

The gap between Ivy and Haswell is even smaller, about 200 MHz. i7-3770K @ 4.4 GHz = i7-4770K @ 4.2 GHz.

I don't believe he will be upgrading from Haswell to Broadwell anytime soon. That's only for enthusiast.

When the time comes to upgrade his computer, he will most likely skip one or two sockets (skylake or skymont).
