The irony in that post.

Poor pronunciation. But at least you spelled grammar correctly this time, that's the first step. Congratulations! You deserve a first grade sticker.

Thanks,I'll be sure to keep it somewhere safe!

i preorder consoles but not games, with a console you know its gonna be around for the next couple years and opening up a console on christmas is probably the only time i ever truly feel like a kid again.

I don't really see the sense in preordering consoles because since the days of the PS2, we've had hardware failures on the first batch of consoles. I'd rather wait for a few months so that I know if there are any immediate threats that could cause hardware failure.

So you don't "believe" in pre-orders? They exist. It doesn't take a god to tell you that. You can't exactly deny the existance of preorders. I know, it's heretical.

Anyway, I preorder games I know will be good. Liiiike, those that have released elsewhere on the planet already. Or games that I know will be hard to get. In this example, Shin Megami Tensei IV. First Edition run gets a bunch of goodies. I would like those goodies. Is it essential? Nope. Is it my money? You damn well better believe it. So I'll preorder it, so I ensure I get my goodies.

For some companies, it may help push a shitty game. But there-in lies the real solution. Don't preorder so soon after announcement. That's what the real problem is. In this case, preordering Shin Megami Tensei IV, the game is already completed. Now something like Aliens: Colonial Marines. Is everyone else to blame for rushing out immediately to preorder it before it was even a month from releasing?

You can say "so wait for it, or order online", but what if you don't want to wait? That's perfectly legal. Perfectly acceptable. Maybe you want to take it someone on a trip with you. Maybe you and a bunch of friends are going to get it and play together.

My advice is to not stop preordering. That's your prerogative. Your choice. If a company decides to fuck it up, well, You kind of already know these various company's reputation. Take that into account first.[b/] But don't put others down because they decide to preorder something.

I only preorder hardware. Preordering software isn't worth doing unless you are getting perks/freebies. Release day of software, there's always a plethora of them on the shelf ready to be purchased and no line. hardware on the other hand, no such luck.

I've only ever done two preorders; one was for Skyrim and the other for Skyward Sword. Well, I didn't have a Playstation 3, so Skyrim became useless. I'm not sure what I was thinking; I guess it was all the hype for the game. Skyward Sword is a different story. I'd never played a Zelda game, so I thought I'd get this one since, well, I'd never played one. Plus there was the Gold Wii Remote. Well, I ended up hating it and wishing I'd never bought it. This was around my fourth month of playing it. I will never preorder something else again; I'll wait for it to be on the shelves.

I believe in wearing sandals, yes. My favorite color is blue. I wore Jeans shorts and a black T-Shirt with a Happy Tree Friends character on it.

In related things, I don't see the reaosn in pre-ordering a digital product, as that can hardly sell out. Physical copies I do pre-order because, you know, merchandise and limited runs and whatnot. But digital? Nope...

Are you my... long lost twin? I love wearing sandals and my favorite color is blue. I'm more into blue t-shirts and other colorful t-shirts, though.

But to relate to the other comment, digital copies have as much a chance as running out as physical copies. It's just easier to fill requests for digital copies than the physical ones since physical ones have to be shipped to wherever they sold out. Digital copies use the internet, which is everywhere at once.

I've never been one to pre-order, though there are situations where I could see doing it. When a limited edition version of a game you KNOW you will buy is coming out and you want that limited edition, pre-order guarantees you'll get it. For example, I didn't preorder the Skyward Sword bundle that came with a Zelda-themed Wiimote+. It took me a week or so to get my hands on one of those bundles because the demand was greater than the supply. I should have just preordered it instead of having to go around for a week looking for it.

I preorder very rarely. Only Animal Crossing New Leaf and SMT IV have I preorderd

And I'm very happy I did preorder ACNL since my Gamestop only got 10 copies that weren't reserved and they sold out before I even got to the store on launch day. (I got to the store <10 minutes after the store opened and was the ~15th person in line)

I haven't had a current console since PS2 and Gamecube, so I haven't done much pre-ordering the past few years. I pre-ordered Borderlands 2 (for PC), Diablo 3 (for PC), and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2. I mostly play PC games, so pre-ordering is irrelevant for the most part. But if the game was from a franchise that I know I'd enjoy like Dragon Quest/Warrior, Shin Megami Tensei, etc., I would pre-order. If I had a 3DS, I'd definitely have SMTIV pre-ordered already. But I don't. So yeah.

Pre-orders are good, just don't go crazy.

The amount of people that are making the same exact jokes are getting pretty boring. It's like all of you read someone elses post had a laugh and are now trying to form it into your own little way to make yourself seem funny but in fact you're not. Meh, gotta love message boards. Same thing happens on youtube comments.

But anyway if I was going to spend $60 on a game rather it be preorder or not I'd buy a digital copy since the basic fact is discs do not live for ever. Chances are games usually appear on the market place a month later

I havent bought a game new in a long time, game prices are just to high for me, companies are havibg to large of budgets on games to give me such little content for my dollar. So I dont preorder anything, I dont buy newer consoles either my pc is much more comfy to play on anyway.

It certainly is a troubling trend.

Can't... Resist.... Posting....

On topic other than the fact Pre-orders are not a Myth like the Loch Ness Monster I see no harm in it, If people wanna chance it before reviews its up to them... You don't have too pre-order you know :P

It's hard not to believe in something that factually, tangibly exists. Suit yourself though.

That aside...

Watch all of the youtube reviews you want. Chances are there is not a single person out there who has 100% the identical game preference as you. You are always going to make purchases you don't like, you're always going to make decisions in general that you don't like or regret. You have to learn how to just deal with it. That's part of life.

If I want a game, I will preorder it. That assures me that I'll be able to go in on launch day and get it rather than wait two months for a store to get three copies back in stock for a grand five minutes.

I pre-order all my games from Amazon because its just so much easier than having to go to a store. I'm a prime member so I get release day delivery on everything. The only exception are Nintendo games that release on Sundays, I just head down to my local Target for those because they open at 8am on Sundays.

For consoles, I only preorder if I really want it on release day, because these days the scalpers will buy them up if you don't. Though after the Wii U launch, that trend may be changing. Really curious to see how the launches of PS4 and XBone go this November.
