So according to the site in the source, it seems monster hunter 4 has now got a release date in japan and that is the 14th of September.

Capcom’s Nintendo 3DS game Monster Hunter 4 will be released on Sept. 14 in Japan.
The game is the first in the series to implement 3D action by use of the Nintendo 3DS’ height and depth differences. It will also include multiplayer via internet connection, so players will be able to play cooperatively with friends throughout the nation.
Two special edition Nintendo 3DS XLs have also been revealed. Fans can choose between the “Goa Magara Black” or “Airu White” versions. Also, a Monster Hunter 4 limited set has been announced. Fans can pick up both a copy of Monster Hunter 4 and one of the special edition Nintendo 3DS XLs on launch day to enjoy together.

Also seems to be a ton of licensed/collaborative items as well,

Thoughts?

What does that mean? MH3U had 3D as well.

There is a stronger emphasis apparently on platforming than before, walls can now be climbed more fluidly and in any direction, and for the first time Hunters can grab onto monsters and attack them. Environments shown also appear to be larger than before.

edit: this seems like a thing

I just saw some Japanese gameplay footage. The polearm weapon can be used to vault onto monsters, and you are encouraged to climb up things, and jump onto monsters.

It will be interesting...to say the least. (I'm going to miss the Shakalas...although.)

YAY~! Kitty tanks!

I cant wait for 4! Im pretty sure Capcom has realized there's money to be made with the franchise over here (not JP level, release a plushy and it flys off the shelves level of money but money!) so hopefully we get it over here.

I just jizzed a little bit. Good job Amelia's already pregnant, she's sat on my lap reading this with me, that could have had consequences. People need to think before they post news like this, damn it!

I really doubt motion controls would suit Monster Hunter... maybe with bows, but it would be troublesome to move the 3DS around all of the time to aim...
