Did the update concluded? If yes, are you getting an error message on v6.0.0-X.
Not sure if you know, but after updating you need to cut the signal line on the PCB:

No, when I try to update the 3ds show a message of fail.

I try to update the two r4, with the same microsd, kernel and firmware, one those works but the another not worked.

make sure your booting the "R4iGold_3DS60_Patch_NDSi_3DS.nds" in your DSLite

tried that file too and it gives fail. Even tried both files to aqua blue 4.3 3ds and fail. Maybe theory in multible c cards valid dunno and ido not cut anything because update fails. Maybe they release another patch maybe not

I have an R4i Gold 3DS Rev C version that was stuck at Metroid, wouldn't upgrade to Dorasu. (A 2nd Rev C works fine with 5.x.x showing Dorasu). Read the entire thread but couldn't pull a clear answer. Has anyone been able to 'revive' the Rev C Metroid cards by following these update instructions? It'd be nice to make this card usable again.

Ok so I followed the instructions very carefully. Mine originally came with the Dorasu icon, and it's a revision C board. So I re-updated the kernel to V1.60 from http://www.r4ids.us/ Then I ran the updater they recently released and let the loading bar go through twice, 2nd one was slow, and the results said "suceeds updating" which I thought was weird because it was mis-spelled and bad grammar, but then again may be typical bad translation. Anywho, after that I went ahead and opened up the cartridge and cut the line as instructed using an exacto knife. Updated my 3ds to latest version, and now I have the new icon and I am able to boot into the menu. However, anything that requires a loading screen, such as starting a DS game, freezes on the "Loading" screen. I have heard re-updating the kernel fixes it, but I have already tried this, so I am not sure what else I can do now, any help?

Thank you guys! I went to the official site, re-downloaded, and crazy enough, it works! WOW! YAY!!! YOU GUYS RULE!

I'm surprised you could update after cutting the signal line.
R4i Gold team clearly said not to do so.

Man, you should have said that earlier.
I'm sorry to say but Metroid revision is not capable of updating.
In the previous update, r4i gold team even accepted to trade old metroid carts for new ones.

Oh no, I didn't run the patcher again. All I did was re-copy the kernel 1.60 files to my SD Card, the ones from the other non-legit site was causing my issue.

Not a big issue for me on the old Metroid card. The seller actually sent me a new card. This card works on older, un-upgraded DSes so I just have it in a drawer for those cases but was hoping this trace-cutting method might revive it. Oh well, it was worth a shot asking.

Would it still be wise to purchase this cart?

My personal advice to you is NO.
Get a DSTwo or something else that works for you. My revision of this card was lost in the shuffle last time and I ended up getting a PSP for GBA and SNES portable gaming and I'm happy with that.
