Just some more information on the state of the Gateway-3DS.

Psp 1st time runnnig unsigned code (hacked) was 1.5 , an early firmware, and it was an error from sony. Yeah i agree thoe, just stating you can only assume but not know for sure.

Maybe 3ds system sales, But what about software?

Not everyone will exclusively pirate games. Besides, maybe newer games may require updated firmware, beyond the level of gateway, or have online that people want (Pokemon X/Y , MH4 eventually) Only time will tell though...

All I gotta say is Gateway needs to enlighten us soon. Im hoping it works with 6.0 as I have no idea how Nintendo could block something that isn't released. Plus if its a 1:1 copy how can they protect against it? at least for the current games that are out. Nintendo cant add anything to their code on current games and if the cart has everything the current games have then the 3ds shouldn't be able to tell the difference. Darn you gateway and the wait!!

From what I've read if you choose to format the system the update goes away.

Along with your saves and downloads (for digital/SD titles, not retail ones), so back those up.

If you format then any previous paid purchases on the e-shop are lost forever. You can't redownload, gotta pay again.

Why does gateway 3DS FAQ say that it will still enable online play, but they recommend you don't use the online features? Why would they recommend against it if it supports it?
