I have noticed that every time I switch on my 3DS (even with wifi off), the update message appears. I garher that it is the offline update. Need to be very careful not to push "A" then

From what I've read if you choose to format the system the update goes away.

Along with your saves and downloads (for digital/SD titles, not retail ones), so back those up.

Noticed that too. Freaking annoying. The system should not be allowed to do that.

If you just leave the 3DS in sleep mode, when you wake it up it rarely prompts. I haven't been prompted since the first two times and I have opened it almost a dozen times. I agree that they shouldn't be allowed to throw it in your face like that.

Why on earth would they not release an update ASAP if they believe they can block a piracy device from ever working publicly? Of course there will be "sad" consumers, but those "consumers" are pirates that quite frankly, Nintendo doesn't care about seeing as they aren't going to buy their games anyway. No company is ever going to "allow" a piracy device to "keep consumers happy"; thinking they will/might is a silly, naive thought.

Well if the cart was working Nintendo would make a killing in 3ds sells.... just saying. Happened to the psp, actually that's the only reason the psp sold as good as it did. It only had a handful of actual good games. Everyone just wanted to have homebrew and pirate shitty games that aren't worth spending money on. Don't get me wrong 3DS games will never be that horrible, its just an example.

How can you possibly know that? I realize psp was way better with cfw than with ofw? But there is no data that says psp sales were cause of cfws. No one goes to a shop saying : "Hey dude, i want a psp for homebrew and stuff, not for those shiitty games''. No. Flashcarts/cfws makes company lose money in 2 ways :

1)Games that could be sell are not because there is already a way to play them. Most people would NOT pay for something free!!

2)Third Parties may refuse to keep doing games for that console (linked to first reason ^)

But there is no possible way to know this either, because there is no educated research about piracy.

Psp 1st time runnnig unsigned code (hacked) was 1.5 , an early firmware, and it was an error from sony. Yeah i agree thoe, just stating you can only assume but not know for sure.

Maybe 3ds system sales, But what about software?
