Hey, this might seem kinda random but I need to do this in a game for a glitch to work.
Could anyone give me any tips on how to go from analog stick pointing one direction to the opposite and back really fast?
The stick doesn't have to go all the way but it needs to be fast to do and repeat.
Best way I've found yet is to put my palm on the analog stick and push it all the way up - down.

Or, you know, just use your thumb to push it back and forth quickly.

Using my left thumb like you normally hold the controller is far too slow. Using my right thumb perhaps, but palm is still better. :(
I'm not sure but I believe I need about 15 flicks per second, perhaps I need more.

15 flicks per second? On what system? And if you just push your thumb onto it from above and then move your hand fast, that'd be the fastest way I can imagine.

I'm not sure I understand how you mean, 'cause whichever way I try with thumb it's slower than palm or using index and middle finger sideways.
It's on gamecube btw.

Well if you're convinced that it's slower, I don't know any other way that you haven't described already, and 15 flicks per second is very hard to do on any system, if not impossible

are you trying to do a wavedash on melee??
first practice with 1/4 speed, that way you don't need to do it that fast.
Do you even know how to wavedash? It has nothing to do with slamming the analog stick.

Anyway, the OP doesn't seem to understand that what he's attempting is a TAS-only trick.
If I had to guess, I'd say he's trying Superswimming in TWW without Dry Storage.

in deed I don't know how to wavedash, I was just making a guess because all I know is that you need to move the stick left-right-left in quick succession, but I never have done a wavedash or maybe I'm thinking about other technique that don't remember the name right now because I just read that wavedash is the thing of passing the momentum of a airdodge to the ground, can be done easily with Luigi.

EDIT: what I was thinking is the super wavedash of Samus, a little miscalculation.

You might be thinking of dash-dancing. Even then, it's nowhere close to 15 per second; 4 per second is relatively fast.

But yeah, wavedashing is the air-dodge technique that Luigi, IC, and Mewtwo can use very well.

aahhh yeah, that's another one that need quick tapping, but not that fast.
anyways, better stop derailing the thread and let the OP explain what is trying to do.

I'll explain in Swedish, because I think I know what he meant.

Tänk att du håller ner styrspaken med din vänstra tumme, medans du skakar handkontrollen med högerhanden. Det är nästan som att använda handflatan, fast du håller fast styrspaken och rör kontrollen istället för tvärtom. :)

That's exactly what I'm trying. I'm able to build speed but not good enough.
The deal is that is has to be done without any known type of storage, and that is because I want to see what can be done before you even retrieve the sword.

EDIT: As I see it there's one more possibility and that's pausing, changing direction, unpausing and pausing again. However I can't seem to get the hang of that.

Sorry, you'll just have to wait until Abahbob finishes his TWW TAS to see what's possible.
I tried the pause method a few days ago, and I couldn't even build a little momentum.

EDIT: If you're gonna try the pause method, I'd recommend pulling up the Map menu (Dpad-Up) instead of the inventory (Start).
