Hello All, I recently got my PS3 modded on Craigslist (I still can't believe I had the guts to do that to my PS3 and from a stranger) and it's working great, I'm enjoying PS3 titles, I hacked up my entire PS2 collection and can play them just fine, but I have a few questions that I was hoping you more advanced hackers could help me with. Keep in mind that I am running on 4.41 Rebug. I have followed tutorials for most of the stuff Ive accomplished so far, but for the following things I have not been able to find a clear (newbie friendly) tutorial to help me with this:

1) I have PS2 ISO's, I have a converter for PS2 Classics, After Converting I seem to have no way to transfer these from my USB to the PS3 so that I can play them as I did with the actual discs. How do I transfer them? I have heard of FTP transfer but my PS3, Modem and PC are far away from each other and I don't have the necessary cables. What are my options and how to I go about doing this? I have FileZilla but cannot seem to be able to set up an wireless FTP server through the PS3, and even if I was I wouldn't know what to do next.

2)I have PSX ISO's and have converted them to .pkg using PS1toPS3 GUI, i can transfer it and install it just fine, but when I press X, it tells me "ERROR: Incorrect Firmware". Is it possible to play these PSX ISO's in this firmware at all? How?

3) How do I install cheats into the PS3 and PS2 games? Is there even a way? Say I want unlimited ammo for Uncharted, how do I do that?

Thanks a lot, I hope to get to know you guys and learn some good stuff!

1) FTP works for transferring, if you have wireless internet it may take a bit longer this way but it works. Just load up Multiman, ensure the FTP setting is on and connect with any FTP client for PC. You can find the FTP setting in Multiman settings (I use XMB mode).

2) Multiman can play PSX ISO as is. No need to convert. Just put in the correct place, see the Multiman readme or forum.

3) not sure about cheats.

Thanks for the prompt reply, it is very much appreciated.

How do I do the wireless transfer from Multiman directly? I only see an option that says "FTP: Enabled" but no idea how to set it up so that Filezilla can recognize it. Any way you can tell me how you do this whne you transfer something?

So what is the right place to put the ISO? I don't know how I would transfer them to the "Correct Place.", any insights on this?

I heard something about modifying saves to sort of "patch" them with cheats. Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!

With FTP enabled on mM, simply note the IP address and type it in on your Filezilla client program on your computer. Transferring, deleting, renaming, etc is done on your computer and there won't be any visible action on your mM other than the occasional "FTP" icon flashing.

PS2 isos should be placed in /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/ folder. Bear in mind that PS2 Classics launches .iso.enc files so your isos will need to be converted either with PS2 Classics Manager or mM.

A helpful, and clear answer, thanks my friend!

I did convert them all to .iso.enc format, so that's all done and ready to go, I just didn't know how to transfer them.

Where do PSX ones go? If there a folder called PSISO I imagine?

Thanks, I'll try it when I get off work.

I believe it's dev_hdd0/PSXISO/. Not exactly sure as I too am at work away from my PS3 at the time.

Thanks man, I'll try it and then I'll post here if it worked or not.

How do I check my I.P. on the PS3?

Also, has anyone tried Bruteforce when it comes to cheat codes? I'd like to know a noobie friendly way of creating/importing cheats to the game save. Is bruteforce the best option when it comes to 4.41 Rebug CFW??

From XMB, enable internet connection, disable auto sign-in (jic,) and check System Information. From mM, I believe there's at least two views that display your ip at the bottom of the screen. Toggle through the views with R1/L1 and you should find it that way as well.

Everything you recommended worked like a charm, I am now playing PS2 and PSX with no problems.

I'm going to try to figure out Bruteforce for the cheats, but if anybody knows how to use it then please post it, I'd love to learn.

Awesome. Glad I could help. Good luck with the Bruteforce cheats and definitely post your findings if you get it working. As for the PS2 classics, here's a handy bookmark for ya: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0As9ZdsrJoSp1dC1NTTRCSE5vbTlkOGItTC1CVzE5U3c#gid=0

Thanks! Quick question, I transferred games like GTA San Andreas which are more than 4 GB, they do not play, they just give me a black screen and I have to turn off the PS3, also the controller needs to be physically plugged back in for the PS3 to recognize it. How do I play these games that are bigger in size?

I've read that this game on PS2Classics is buggy, bordering on non-playable; but it shouldn't black screen. It might be either a bad rip or a bad .iso.enc conversion; it happens. Here's a different compatibility list stating that it "works:" http://www.pshomebrew.net/wiki/PS2_Classics_Emulator_Compatibility_List

If you're using PS2 Classics Manager, you may want to make sure that you are on the latest build: PS2_CLASSIC_MANAGER_1.02_[20130411]. There were previous controller issues with: PS2_CLASSIC_MANAGER_1.01_[20130406] similar to what you are describing, but only with non-official Sony Dualshock 3s. Although they haven't addressed all controller issues with the new build, the cable plug in method is the current "work-around."

Also, playing games that are 4GB+ isn't really an issue; transferring them is. Remember, the PS3 USB ports support FAT32 formatted storage media that has a max file size of 4GB. When I transferred KH1, I ripped it on my lappy, stuck the iso in a thumbdrive, and moved it with mM. When I transferred FFX, I ripped it to my lappy, but had to move it with FTP because it is 4GB+. This is really the only issue when you read a lot of noise about 4GB+ PS2 games on PS3s.

So for BruteForce, what I did was the following:

1-Copy saved data from PS3 to flashdrive
2-Paste the saved date on the PC desktop
3-Open BruteForce
4-Clicked Decrypt
5-Clicked Cheats, Selected Max Money Cheat (Midnight Club LA)
6-Clicked Encrypt
7-Clicked Rebuild
8-Closed everything
9-Copy New Saved data to flashdrive
10- Replace my modified Data with that on the PS3
11-Played the game and voila! It works!

PS3 Midnight Club LA Max Money Cheat is the only cheat I was able to use that actually worked, but hey, it works.
I tried it with uncharted and God of War Ascension but not working. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, I'm sure there's a lot more that this program can offer, and more steps I probably needed to do, but I feel accomplished for a total noob! lol.

Hope that helps.

Does anyone know how to apply codebreaker codes to PS2 Classics? I'd like to get the max money cheat on Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition. As well as all the Kingdom Hearts Games.

Thanks!
