Hmm...while I certainly believe troll companies exist that only thrive on suing others for patents, it's far from Alcatel-lucent's "only" business. In fact, they actually DO quite few things in our area in regards to telecommunication. That's probably how they got those patents in the first place.
It's sad that this department goes on doing things like this. And they've made a terrible mistake when choosing the guy to represent them. But still...I wouldn't label them a troll company just yet.

I'm going to patent my posts and am gonna charge €5 for every quote :tpi:
So...you're going to sue me...over what, exactly? :P

The company itself may not be a patent-troll company (one that does nothing but), but if you are suing multiple companies over a patent you did not create and that you do not actually use ("non-practicing entity" is the official term last I checked), you are patent trolling.

This is a problem with our patent laws, not something to blame people for using. (They did file the patent first, what they do with it is no ones business)
"Yeah it's not illegal to stab somebody with an icicle in Utah, so if it happens you should blame the laws and not the person who did the stabbing." ...?

They are hurting no one, that is not related in anyway. Most gbatemp members would prob do it and they could afford the patent, yet not the manufacture. Someone still had a great idea first and used our patent system to the full extent.

fine then I shall patent the phrase (old coot) since I like using it a lot,lol
any one who says this phrase shall be sued for $1000, hahahahaha
(sarcasm intended)
