Unity 4 Pro free for all devs on Wii U, Nintendo Web Framework announced

Unity 4 Pro updated with all 4.x updates is available for free for all developers with an open beta starting today. Nintendo mentioned sales performance of Gunman Clive for Nintendo 3DS - outselling iOS and Android versions as an example of success for indies on the eShop.

Business Policy update for Wii U from the Unity session:
1. No concept approval
2. Price and date set by the developer
3. Freemium is supported
4. Royalty share is industry standard

The Nintendo Web Framework is a development environment based on WebKit technologies, supporting application development on the Wii U system using HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS. It also supports the Wii U GamePad controller, Wii Remote controllers, and JavaScript extensions such as video playback. With the Nintendo Web Framework, development times will be reduced and Wii U applications can be easily developed using common Web technologies. Combining the handy Wii U GamePad, the TV screen, and the Internet, the potential exists for the services and games you are developing to progress by leaps and bounds.

Erm...they have "an xCode iOS app" you want to run on "nintendo", then "they will convert it for you". It doesn't say any, it doesn't say web app, and it doesn't say free either.

Or are you refering to another source than the one from the OP?

unity - for those who have not heard about it, its an amazing engine that allows you to make games easily and will little coding. graphics are almost totally handled for you by the engine.

it can publish/build apps for mac, pc, ios, android, ps3, xbox live and web using the same program.

for those who wanna make games and don't know where to begin, this is it.

I see it gaining a lot of publicity these past few weeks.

The last tweet in that screenshot clearly says Javascript and CSS i.e. web technologies i.e. web app. And I made no mention of free either [but in actual fact, the last tweet in the screenshot does say free]

As for the "xcode iOS app" thing; are all native iOS apps not built with xcode? AFAIK, xcode is just the name of the development suite for Mac OS, which is used for (amongst other things) compiling all iOS apps if I'm not mistaken.

Fantastic, I hope the framework will someday support the 3DS. Also, is there any documentation on how the framework will be distributed?
