Well to be fair, this forum has subforums with subforums ontop of subforums, and for flash carts people often go to different ones depending on their hardware or what google brought them to.

I'll accept that point for the DS, not the 3DS forums. The 3DS only has the hacking forum. That's it.

Maybe this is just my way of thinking, but if I have a question I tend to read the stickies first, since 9 times out of ten it's usually answered there before I make myself look even more stupid by asking a question that has been posted 7559878950683 times already.

Couldn't we all save time by just making a sticky thread title telling people the SCDS2 and newer R4I Gold are the only flashcarts that work on the 3DS?

But that's part of the problem. People who want to play ROMs on a 3DS will go into the 3DS section, not the DS section, and thus miss most of the info. After all, if I wanted to hack a PS2 I wouldn't go into the PS1 forum first thing.

There's already a sticky in the 3DS section directing people to the DS section which has the right stickies...

But GBAtemp has too many subforums and too many stickies, making visual clutter and pushing the important stuff lower in the list (just look at where the "nothing plays 3DS ROMs" sticky is by now).

Seeing as most flash carts are dead and older DS models discontinued (and the 3DS has been out for a while now), I think the forum needs a cleanup (especially all those dead cart forums).

I'll probably make a cleanup suggestion thread later.

Most of those coming here are asking specifically about the 3DS. So sending them to the DS forums isn't really going to help a great deal. They are asking (repeatedly) about what cart to get or what works on a 3DS. So a simple sticky in the hacking forum, or maybe even just a new subforum for flashcart questions only may be the answer. When the 3DS does get its own carts (or hacking method), it'll probably spring a few new subforums anyway.

However, most of those who ask seem to be completely new to both the 3DS "scene" and basic typing skills, so it may not help at all.

All the flash cart info already exists in the DS's flash cart section because it's the exact same thing as it was on the DS/i.

I know this. Joe Newcomer doesn't, nor does he care. He wants to know about the 3DS, and will make new posts asking questions answered already in dozens of previous posts on the same page to get that info.

I guess my point is people should read the damn stickies before they ask.

But they don't see the stickies because they're not here, they're in the DS section.

The forum structure is hindering people who are looking for info, which is why it needs to be changed.
