Ok so I have read so many threads on getting this program to work and so many people stating different things and I have tried everything I could but nothing is seeing the GC ISO so to give a Description this is what i have
WD 640 GB USB HDD - Formated Fat32 1 Partion only 32k set Active with EaseUS Partion
Root Directories [wbfs] & [games]

I have installed Usb loader Gx v3 Downloaded R1203 IOS 249 Moved boot.Dol to SD:/Apps/USBLoader_gx
Installed DIOSMIOS_2.6 with Wad Manager on IOS 236
Selected the Box to Show GC Games & Set Custom Paths to USB1:/games
(Also Tried Setting path to USB1:/games/Skies of Arcadia Legends [GEAE8P] (Where the ISO Was located)

Used Gamecube ISO Tool to convert .gcm file to .iso file placed the iso file usb:/games/Skies of Arcadia Legends [GEAE8P]/game.iso
(Also Tried Extracting to DiscEx & GCReEX Formats)

Lastly I have tried Configurable USB Loader 7 (as USBLoader Gx just shows wii games)
Tried Wiiflow (I have not found any games, Click install games or select partion to select your partion type) Will not install a GC Disc states not a wii disc! under game partion simply reads FAT1 down at the bottom has 7/7 and cant select or move anything but the Back button

So anyone have any idea what it is that I'm doing wrong and why this is not working for me?
(Lastly : Both USB Loader & CFG Recognize Wii Games)
Thanks

First I would like to suggest you use USBLoader GX r1209 (copy the boot.dol over the v3 boot.dol, "Sd:\Apps\usbloader_gx\boot.dol").
Next I also suggest you use DMToolbox (included with DiosMios 2.6) to manage/convert your gamecube games. For the GameCube games I believe they have to be in a folder named with the ID of the game. Example: "USB1:/games/GM4E01/game.iso" that is mario kart.

Skies of Arcadia Legends would be "USB1:/games/GEAE8P/game.iso"

Hope you get it working. Best of luck to ya. Let me know how it goes. :grog::mthr:

Ok, so I tried use USBLoader GX r1209 but no dice
First I moved the boot.dol into the sd:/APPS/usbloader_gx/
I then deleted the channel on the wii
Inserted SD Card --> Wad manager 1.7 --> Installed the usbloader gx wad file again
Booted it up and just the wii games
Though I want to note that my paths from what I set were the same they did not go back to default as well the GC Games box was checked meaning somewhere in the system its retaining this information - also when I pulled it up in the homebrew channel it stated a different revision # but not sure if just changing the dol file would fix the initial install and change that

anything else? Not sure what Im doing wrong here
Thanks again

Did you make sure to change the folder name to just "GEAE8P" instead of "Skies of Arcadia Legends [GEAE8P]"?

You don't need to delete the channel, I believe that is just a forwarder that points to the boot.dol.

The version number will be different in homebrew channel because it uses the meta.xml file not the actual boot.dol, if you really want to change that then open up the meta.xml file with wordpad.

Also, the reason your settings are saved is because the configuration file is saved to "Sd:\Apps\usbloader_gx\GXGlobal.cfg"

Edit:
Just wanted you to know that there is a thread that might help you if you hadn't seen it already, look on the last page for my latest posts as well.
http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-play-gamecube-games-off-a-usb-hdd.329628/

Edit 2:
I wanted to point out that you have the pal version of the game just in case you didn't know that (the Europe version to be exact). ;):moogle:

Once again, good luck... these things can be tricky sometimes. B-)
As for me... it's time to sleep now (4:12 am), I'll look back in the morning, g'night.

Do NOT use the channel to launch USBLoaderGX.
The channel is probably too old. Updating the dol has no effect if you still launch the full channel.
There are two kind of channels : Full Channel (with old usbloaderGX inside), forwarder channel (without usbloaderGX, it's loading the dol on your SD card).

When you are in USBLoaderGX, go into the settings and Credit page to verify which version you are currently using.

Thanks again I will try the renaming the folder tonight but i think i found my problem - first though (Cyan) If i dont boot it from the channel on the system menu are you suggesting I boot it from the Homebrew channel? I installed both channel and forwarder..

Though onto where i think the problem lies after investigating my HDD it appears when I formatted it with Fat32 it auto set it for 64k instead of 32k - So to get a better handle I loaded partition magic and tried to redo the cluster size and it states I will only have about 200gb's if I do so of my 640gb - so is this correct? Do I need to set 2 partions 1 with 32k and the other partion to 64k with the wii games?

thank you again for all the help

UPDATE
So when using partion magic i deleted the drive and went to format but when i select FAT32 it removes the option to set cluster size and auto sets it to 64k but if I use NTFS it allows me to select 32k and format the right size... This is the same in both the different programs I have used

Ok here's my issue, im newbie...
System 4.3u
HB 1.02 Channel installed with the bomb thing
Then used Pimp my Wii to update all iOS and patched
Installed latest USB Loader GX WAD with Pimp my Wii to have the channel.
Installed latest MIOS DIOS for USB WAD using Pimp my Wii

Wii folder usb:\wbfs
Gamecube Folder usb:\gamecube

USB Loader GX do not show gamecube games, all are in GCM format
I inflated a GCM to ISO and placed in the usb:\wbfs it was listed but didn't run, Wii just hangs.

Thank you in advance.

gamecube games need to be converted using the tool included with dios mios and which are then converted and placed in their own folder and you place those folders with the files in them into a folder on your usb drive called games and also make sure you have the latest boot.dol for loader gx which 1209 i believe

If you installed the WAD file of USBLoaderGX, just be sure that you installed the forwarder WAD, not the full channel WAD.
The fullchannel WAD version is too old for DIOS MIOS.

You don't need to "convert" the games using the DMToolbox.
you can use the game in iso format without any conversion, compression or extraction.
You only need to rename the folder and filename correctly.
DMToolbox can be used for that purpose too.

DMToolbox fixed it, but I am unable to run from USB directly it asks to install the game in the SD Card. No way to play the game from USB?

isn't it simpler to type USB Loader GX 1209 and Dios Mios 2.6 than to type latest this and that?
or you don't really know what versions have you installed?

If you installed DIOS MIOS 2.6 (Current latest) and USBLoaderGX 1209 (Current Latest), but it still ask you to copy to SD when running the game, then you probably are not using the correct version of USBLoaderGX.
Go into USBLoaderGX Settings > last page > Credits : Look which version you are using, which DIOS MIOS (Lite) version is detected.

Well everytime I select a GC game it ask me to copy to the SD or delete a game from SD.
I uninstalled DIOS MIOS, and USB Loader GX still ask me to copy the game to the SD so its a USB Loader issue.
I use the channe but also ran the USB Loader GX from HBC and same thing

r1219 is not released yet (today, only r1217 is available).

if you make two partitions, make sure that the FAT32 is the first one on your drive, do not put WBFS before FAT32.
DIOS MIOS need FAT32 to be the first partition on the drive.

If you try with USBLoaderGX, it checks your HDD setup and should tell you if something is wrong with it (partition place, partition size, partition format, sector size)

Things you can try :
- Try with USBGX to "test" your drive setup.
- Don't use DiscEX. Put the .ISO directly in the folder, DIOS MIOS don't need the extracted files (it's a choice, ISO or files). Use the Full, unmodified ISO first to see if the game is compatible etc.
- try few times, DIOS MIOS has problem mounting some HDD.
- Maybe your HDD is incompatible with DM.

thank you for the reply
1. about r1219 .. my bad its r1217 like you said
2.my hdd is already the first one as i tested it on another wii and its working (which is fresh new formatted korean wii with system menu 4.2u softmodded with modmii)
3.i tried using only ISO insted of DiscEX but the wii doesnt even show it ... do i have to rename the game to game.iso ??
4.i dont have to try USBGX as i said i tried my hdd with another wii so everything is fine with my hdd

there is something wrong with my wii i tried to format it and softmod it again with modmii but no use,
is the chip has something to do with this ?? i dont think so cuz i tried to take my other korean wii's drive and put it in my USA wii but no use still the same issue ..
i guess im out of choices except one thing , my other Korean wii (which is working with dios mios) is on wii system menu 4.2u and the other one (which is not working) is on 4.3u
so i will try to downgrade it as it is my last hope , i have no idea why this is not working for my other wii
the only thing that keeps me wonder that the flash drive is working for me but the hdd not !!!

(PS: i have tried 2 kinds of hdd's (WD 1TB & ADATA 500GB)
